ZM has made some very serious allegation on MQM chief.. I think MQM chief has to do a lot of explanation and it will be not an easy task for him to make people believe that these allegations are not true, because his target electorate "the Urdu speaking population of Pakistan" are very emotional about the solidarity of Pakistan. If MQM chief fails to answer these allegations effectively he will lose his support base.
As far as target killings are concerned, I think they will be reduced in future as there will be a lot of pressure on government and politicians to separate politics and crime. People will not accept in future the protection of criminals by politicians for personal gains.
Allegations are serious. Both PPP and MQM have to do some explanation. If PPP knew what MQM was up to why did they negotiate/share power with them. MQM will have a tough time keeping their vote bank in tact.

People in Pakistan would take anyone seriously who holds Quran on his heads. I am watching various TV channels here who are not questioning the credibility of the guy.. Lot will depend on MQM reaction which is awaited. They need some serious damage control/media handling to face this wave/Tsunami...

Being a muslim, i believe him because he has hold the Quran while saying this (plus he has said all this in the blessed month of Ramzan on a blessed day).
Only a very unblessed muslim would lie in such circumstances.
Plus everything that he mentioned should not come as a shock to everyone.

How naive on your part...MQM's only base is the barrel of their 15,000 armed terrorists...and cover provided to them by PPP gov't through Rehman Malik...

and you are right!! def ppp knew wht mqm was upto .. but i always fail to understand ... y they always side with mqm? whnever Zulfiqar accused mqm, ppp would always be on mqm side and say its his personal statement we have nothing to do with it!! such cowards!!

and honestly, i dont think mqm can fool Karachiites anymore or keep them in dark!! we all know wht they are all abt!! its just ppl hav feared of being killed!! ...

Exactly, I still remember when Imran khan had a falling out with MQM, he stated categorically that it was the job of MQM to make sure that Karachi never competed with Dubai and that it never achieve its potential.

What MQM is capable of doing in Karachi is only the function what the establishment and the gov't is willing to tolerate...
When true heat is brought on MQM as was the case in the three successful operations in the 90s, the rats go scurrying back in the hole until being revived by establishment...
As for now, Zardari has brought in the Qatil league to shore up his gov't at the center...MQM's usefulness is fast running out...
Mirza is no rogue, Zardari is the shrewdest politician in Pakistan's history, not even the megalomaniac bhutto can compete with him in insidiouness, and Mirza has been put up to this by Zardari himself to further up the heat on MQM...mean while, pir altaf bhai is missing in Landan...
