Women especially in the old days didn’t have much of a life outside the family.. I see my older aunties and tend to find them quite naive rather than mature.. Most are not street-smart at all..

Sheltered is not immature. Say what you will, but our grandparents, as young as they were, had homes, and children and led an adult life compared to today, when people spend their 20’s and often their 30’s, partying and having fun. Extended bachelorhood, and 30 year old man-children are a modern phenomena.
