Sheltered is not immature. Say what you will, but our grandparents, as young as they were, had homes, and children and led an adult life compared to today, when people spend their 20’s and often their 30’s, partying and having fun. Extended bachelorhood, and 30 year old man-children are a modern phenomena.

I’d rather my kids have fun when they are young then be married with kids at 13. Its not immature its enjoying life, people did that in those days because they would likely be dead at 40 such was life expectancy but now you are more likely to live longer with modern medicine and health and safety at work, therefore you can wait a while before you have children.
That bloke in the article is just wrong and so are the parents for ‘selling’ their daughter. Who does that? Some sick and twisted people around.

^ Did you even read what I wrote? A few decades is not 700 AD. In the 60’s and 70’s, most people were married and settled by their mid 20’s. Marriage was the natural step after finishing your education. Nowadays people screw around until their late 30’s, some men do so even longer. When I said “have fun”, I referred to having casual sex with different partners, as opposed to dating to find someone to marry. The difference is the intent.
Obviously, as our educations take longer, we marry later, but people’s intentions are changing as well. And to be fair, delaying until you settle down is far more pronounced in the West than in Pakistan.

who knows about when to marry or not better than islam and Allah. so if it can’t be done what islam said then we have make the environment and built a society like that so we can easily follow islam…
what stop a person from that age to marry and then to solve it in right way.
for e.g. i say one of the reason is education.
so we have to solve the education SYSTEM .. wat i mean to say e.g. we all know M. Bin Qasim was at age of 17 and he was the commander in chief of army,
one of the sheikh once praying after jumma prayer (in ramzan) and he said that thanks Allah that u allow me to eat in ramzan (he was kid that roza was not farz on him at that time )..
and alot more are there in history.
its not like they are not gr8 onezz. but it also tells us that education system was like make them mature ON TIME not at age of 30 or over (LATE)..
as we know education system of pakistan. there are many steps that we can skip. like 1 to 4 should be less to 1 to 2, 5th and 6th books are almost same. 9th, 10th, 1st year and 2nd year, it should be of 2 years.
then bacholar should b of 2-3 years and MS should be of 1-1.5 years.
i m bacholar engineer. and i know how many those books i HAVE to study while it was not necessary as i experienced it..

Forcing one to marry against her will shouldn’t be done at any age and that is also against Islam. If Islam says that she can be married when baligh, then that’s the minimum age/stage that we have. Apart from that, parents/guardians should take the responsibility to see when it makes sense.

Yes but some girls reach puberty at 10, you wouldn’t let your 10 year old daughter get married unless there is something wrong with you.
