Why must people play mind games ?
Re: Mind Games
^ To manipulate situations. It's a form of control......so that you can get what you want (whatever that might be).
Playing hard to get, for example, is a mind game used to attract the other person's attention. The objective being to get the other person to come after you. You're trying to manipulate the situation so you have more control of a situation that you might have previously thought unfavorable.
The "cold shoulder" can be like a mind-game. Used to pressure the other person into apologizing........or surrendering to your desires.
An abusive spouse might play a "mind game" where he abuses the wife for several days............and just when she's thinking of leaving.........her surprises her with unbelievable kindess.....making her think he "loves" her. He's hoping that the sudden affectionate gesture might cause her to STAY. He's trying to control the situation.
Sometimes mind games can be used for GOOD. A parent might use mind games to trick a child into eating all of his/her veggies, for example. A teacher might manipulate a situation to teach her students a valuable life lesson.
Re: Mind Games
they don't have anything productive to do with their time
they lack human qualities to approach things in a normal fashion
it is their version of a high
Re: Mind Games
sometimes its a silent language of love n sometimes its cuz the other person isnt sure abt hw they feel regarding a certain thing & sometimes its just tht they are evil ...depends on the person completely!!
p.s: i can think of someone who plays constant mind games n he does it cuz he gets pleasure frm knowing hes being smart (he isnt smart at all in reality)
point being u never know the reason :)
Insecurity
Re: Mind Games
....to "trap you".
To be the victim, to manipulate others and because they're highly insecure and confused individuals.

Re: Mind Games
cz they have nothing better to do wtih their time/energy than to play games!
Re: Mind Games
Because it is fun?
DON'T look at me like that!
Ur a playa too aren’t you ! ![]()
Re: Mind Games
so its “insecurity” , “getting a high” or "to trap you " ![]()
Maybe they play mind games cuz they are more in “control” of a situation than the “victim” is ?
So maybe its not those who play it but those who fall for it that are to blame ![]()
Just a thought !
Re: Mind Games
for some reason, its fun .... for others .... they always want to bluff you thinking you are hiding something
Re: Mind Games
people play mind games when they** know** whatever they are trying to achieve is not on the up n up ....
Re: Mind Games
its the work of manipulative, cunning, self centered individuals...for them its as normal as flexing muscles.
99.9999% of the time mind games involves playing the victim..yes its a disease.
Idle mind is the devil's workshop.
hmmmm
shyne who has time for all that? Thing is life/relation is long. Unlike as we like to think in high-school that relation is like a 2 hr soccer match.
And unlike soccer match In rellation either there are two winers or there are two losers. Period!!
Re: Mind Games
