Re: millie beauty parlour?

both of my cousin were brides by milli in islamabad...shes really good but...let her know what u want, n what u don't want..don't let them experiment on u..

Re: millie beauty parlour?

I was a milli bride too…for both my wedding day and my mehndi. She’s pretty good but i think - like with most things nowadays - you are paying a lot of money just for her reputation. I’ve seen brides with flawless make up done at lesser known parlours for a fraction of the price.

Also, you need to book milli waaaaaay ahead in advance. She’s a bit snobby too and brushes aside your opinion on what you’d like and basically does what she thinks will look better cos she’s the ‘expert’. (Although her idea was better than mine in the end anyway but still, it’s rude to not even pretend that what I was saying could’ve worked :hehe:)

Re: millie beauty parlour?

Everyone at my wedding got dressed at Milli's, I went to Danielle's... they are sister in laws... like one is the bhabi.. I lovedddddddddddddddddddd danielle's make up and I loved her attitude

Re: millie beauty parlour?

HolY!! When did you get married?!?!?!!!

Re: millie beauty parlour?

Why do people become rude snobby and don’t want to listen to you? very unprofessionnel, one should not hire people like that who think of themself too much, one should be polite in order to get a long term client rather than short-time don’t you think so?

Re: millie beauty parlour?

Well I guess in her line of business, you don't expect your customers to come back anyway. You can go to any beauty salon for ordinary treatments but obviously people want the best for a special event like their wedding which most people usually only experience once :)

Re: millie beauty parlour?

She's just ok.... she uses normal products. i mean, you are paying the same price you would pay in america/canada for Shirley Wu, for example ... i expect quality products. Not stuff I can find at the local drug store on sale for $5.

I don't like L'oreal, maybelline, Almay, Clinique ... this is stuff she uses. So I don't know ... for 15,000 rupees, that's a lot of money for aam products you find at Shoppers Drug Mart. I'm going to use my own products I got from sephora ... at least my own foundation.

I was under the impression that salons here use thicker and heavier foundations cause of the camera .... cause it would look better on camera, like a professional make up line. Maybe I'm just too picky ... but for $250, which is what she charges for bridal make up, I don't want L'oreal or Clinique on my face.

Re: millie beauty parlour?

^ Really? drugstore stuff? that sucks... At New Look, they used all Mac makeup...if she'll use the makeup you give her, thats great, it'd suck if she didnt!!

Re: millie beauty parlour?

The only stuff that isn't drugstore stuff is her Clinique line. i asked to see all the foundations, and it's all stuff you can find at a drug store. I was really disappointed but that explains why some of the brides look like they have atta on their face. They don't know any better cause they think she's good ... she's one of the best ... maybe I was just expecting better. I packed my MAC eyeshadows and my foundation so I will ask her to use that.

L'Oreal and Maybelline, these lines are OK for everyday wear, but yaar, not on your shadi. Instead, they just cake it on thicker which is why it looks like atta.

I am really biased and picky when it comes to make up. I looked at all her make up and this is stuff you find at any shop for five bucks. In fact, half of her L'Oreal eyeshadows, I already had and threw out cause I didn't like them, basically cause they don't show up on my skin ... the pigment is too light.

Oh well. I have my own stuff. She will use it if I ask her.

Re: millie beauty parlour?

For such a great reputation and charges, yuo should've expected better.
I thought the atta look was because they just use one or two base colors (white and extra white).

When is the wedding?

Re: millie beauty parlour?

And congrats in advance :hugz::sara:

Re: millie beauty parlour?

They do that too… they ask if you want to go one shade lighter, etc. Man, I’m just sticking to my own foundation.

wedding is on saturday. :clown:

Re: millie beauty parlour?

she is really good..but i don,t have her #

Re: millie beauty parlour?

I can't recall if she used clinique products on me but the foundation she usedon me certainly wasn't.....it looked pretty thick which I didn't really want but she explained it was theatrical make up or something and wouldn't look heavy once it was one and came out in nice in pictures. She was right on that so I can't really complain I guess.

Re: millie beauty parlour?
