Because they dont find any roots of such act in the life of Prophet (S.A.W) & in the time of Khilafat e rashida (The only AUTHENTIC sources to take something as Deen).

although Sahaba (R.A) used to recite poetry in the praise of Prophet (S.A.W), one should not confuse the praising poetry with Today’s so called Milaads.

All i gotta say is .. those ppl who say as such .. that roots of it wernt found in Prophets Time … so my question is .. those who say this and stand by this .. were roots / existence of those ppl / was there existence of those ppl in the Prophet SAW time ?? I doubt .. so wouldnt they be the bitdat itself ..

but then again .. you gota know about the teachings of Islam that the Prophet SAW taught us about two types of Bidats ..

Yar please dont take any offense but this is an old arguement. oh lets ride camels instead of cars cause then that is also biddat.

did you read the definition of biddat I gave in post #6 at all. Please tell me if computer fits that definition.

and also, I asked one question that no one answered yet. If you dont accept my definition of biddat, please give me your definition. What is it?

no innovation in “deen” is a positive innovation. as the definition (one of several possible definitions) posted earlier in this thread clearly says that bidat is only bidat if it WAS POSSIBLE in the times of prophet and sahaba, with the available means and resources and technology and all that, but was never practiced IN THE WAY ITS BEING DONE TODAY. so no, computers, cars, airplanes, guns, missiles they are not bidat. lets not confuse them with the innovations in deen.

Yaar between these 3 examples. number 2 and 3 are in practice from last 1400 years, Milad is something that took its present shape and form in last century.

Taraveeh was hardly challenged ever so all of a sudden thinking that we can pass judgment over something that was approved by 1000’s of scholars in last 14 centuries is little scary for me to do.

I have no issue with either (Milaad, Traweeh) because they don’t contradict any religious ruling or quranic verses. But in principle both are biddah by the definition i.e later day innovation / modification with goodwill.

3 talaq; at least hanafi/sunni way is a safer way if you think of it. What if by 1% chance sunnis are right about 3 talaq, then imagine that all others who did not follow that rule are living a life of zina (I can explain in detail what I am saying but we can do it later)

3 talaq in one go is a biddah which contradicts quranic verses.

Either you hold 3 talaq biddah close to your chest and throw quran in dust bin

OR

You hold quran close to your heart and throw 3 talaq biddah in dust bin.

Choice is yours. This is not the right place for this discussion

t is reported that Umar declared in public:

“Anyone who pays more for their dowry than what the Prophet used to pay, will put the excess amount in the Public Treasury.”

A woman from the Quraish came to him and said:

“O commander of the Believers, which have more right to be followed, the Book of Allah [the Qur’an] or your statement?”"

He answered:

“The Book of Allah.”

So she told him,

“You have just prohibited the people from giving the excess amount from the dowry, but Allah Taalah has revealed in His Book, ‘And if you have given them a great amount of gold as dower, take not the least bit of it back’(Qur’an 4:20).”

Therefore Umar said a few times:

“The Woman is correct and Umar is mistaken.”

because the Deen was passed on to us like this, from Muhammad to Sahabah raziallaho anhum, from them to Tabaeen, and Taba Tabaee, rahimohum allah ta’la, and then from them to aima karam and like that… plus, Quran explicitly orders us to follow Muhammad :saw: and “wallazeena ma’a hu” that is people with him, and those are “Sahaba”…

We all should Follow Sahaba and i dont have any porblem with that, But i have a right to ask questions when i quote a posters text…

i believe meelaad is a bid’a [innovations] and all bid’a are condemned in Islam. anyone who creats a bid’a or follows it are given ample warnings of harsh punishments [saKht sazaa kii va’eedeN aayii haiN]. Allah had completed the deen for us. Prophet [s.a.w.s] said in his last sermon that the audience be witness that he had fulfilled his obligation and passed on the deen to ummat in it’s entirety and that he had completed his mission. anything added to the deen after that is considered bid’a of extreme nature. meelaad is one of them, qabr parasti is another, extremism is yet another.

May Allah save us from bid’aat and make the deen pure for us [Khaalis deen] and help us walk on the siraat ul mustaqeem…aameen!

u can individually send as much salaam as u wish…do it all day and all thru the night. the problem comes when people do it in congregation and especially when they do it right after the namaaz baa jamaa’at in masaajid, thus making it a part of the namaaz.

Quoting the Text in red and looking at the Logic provided in this post, I am asking… If deen is already complete here and to add anything after that point is biddat… Then we shld all stop here and define everthing that was added After this Point as biddat which includes nomiation of Caliph, Translating Quran, taraweeh, Compiling Quran… And as One of the posters Already Said “defining Biddat” itself comes under biddat !!! According to Logic provided in this post no one has a right to Add or delete anything from Deen after this very sermon …Not even a sahabi then why even considers Sahaba’s era becoz that started after the deen was complete.

Hazrat Abu Bakar compiled about 3000 hadees that he later destroyed with the fear that what if he quoted something wrong. Hazrat Abu Hurraira lived with prophet for many years and recorded every hadess (6000 on his credit), plus remember that i used the word of ‘need’ in my deifnition and there was no need to compile hadees in book form during the life of prophet.

Sahaba; because they lived with prophet so if they were the best followers and role models for all of us. If they did not do anything, there is no need for us to do.

BTW, my argument is going to clash with your basic beleif so I am not going to further argue on Caliphs comment of yours but Prophet did appoint Abu Bakr as the next leader of ummat. When he asked Abu Bakr to lead the prayers during his last times, he indicated that Abu Bakr is going to be the next caliph

And here my question was if Sahabas r role model for us then we shld do everything any sahabi did Proudly… i.e Suciding, Running away from Battle… Even Having intention of Killing Prophet s.a.w is Sunnat of sahabi… Fighting Ahley Bait, Declaring War against em its all What the role models did. We need to change Defination of Sahabi or Change our Role Models !

Allah is Sending Salam on Hazrat yahyah a.s on the day he was born... But for Muslims to send Salam On the day Prophet s.a.w was born is biddat ?

And Hazrat Esa a.s sending salam on himself on the day he was born ....

My point is that if ALLAH can send salam on the Prophet a.s on the day he was born, and Prophet a.s can send salam on Prophet (himself) a.s. Muslims shld do it too :), all Ahadeeth r not necessarily rite.

Now if someone does it, totally wrong, but if it actually happens is actual Question. Every Muslim believes that ALLAH does not have kids. However, every muslims believes Prophet s.a.w had atleast one daughter. We all want to pray to ALLAH the Way Prophet s.a.w did, Which means we all beleives Mohammed is Abd of ALLAH. Sister i am sure you know intentions matter alot in Islam and u shldnt judge someones Intentions coz we leave it to ALLAH.

No niks you are wrong. Lets all stand up for Prophet (defying the hadees where prophet asked Sahaba never to standup in his presence to show respect to him), reciting naat in loud voice (defying the rule of Islam that no one should speak in loud voice in the presence of Prophet) and instead of reciting Durrod-e-Ibrahimi, recite another form of durood (that is never proven by any hadees) to show respect to Prophet.
