own in laws - even the 4 yr old is a villain. vat is dis?
Yes & even that is true,
Which society you belong to?
I have said, NO to my MIL a lot of times about things that I didn’t want to do. I really dont know how many years has it been to you in your marriage and neither do I know if you live with them or not.
I have lived quite a long time with them. It takes time to adjust in the “in-laws atmosphere”!! It took me time too. Initially, I did hate them. Gradually I started understanding them and finally I got addicted to them. Since the day first, my rating of 1/10 has increased to 9/10. Remember, the rating is not about how comfortable I am with them, its just about knowing them. When you know people, you tend to handle them more easily and you don’t mind minor issues. Things that I used to think were major, are no more major to me. Things that used to make me cry, makes me literally laugh now.
This helps me staying happy. There “are” indeed some “characters” in the family (LOL) but when you learn about them, you learn to tackle them too. Things I used to mind, I don’t mind anymore. Its not like I dont get angry, I do, (its natural to get angry on things that you dont like), but I don’t make them issue. I hear, I get angry, sometimes I react, sometimes I ignore and I forget!! Simple is that. It has nothing to do with the term “hate”.
I DO have problems with inlaws sometimes, but that doesn’t make me HATE them. Hate is a really strong word. It pisses me off, it leads me to aggression, it for the time being gives tension, but it doesn’t result in hate. There HAVE been times, when I enjoy with them. I laugh, I go for picnics, I crack jokes with my parent-in-laws a lot… and we laugh too. They have started understanding me, I have understood them too. That’s the way they are and I can’t change them now. So I have accepted them with what they are. They have been bad to me at times, but I can’t forget that we have shared really good moments together too. They are a family now!!
and not to ignore this one!!
GG, I wouldn’t lie to u or anyone here. Every human is born with some lacknesses and some good qualities. There have been times when I went through a real tough phase of understanding my in-laws and so did they.
There have also been times when I found them mean and sarcastic!! But as the time passes… you tend to learn more about human behaviors. Living with them and ignoring their misdeeds sometimes take you to the right path.
So what I think is, it would be totally wrong if I keep focusing on the darker side, I have indeed shared some good times with them too. If we have fought, we have shared laughters too… not only that I started understanding them, they are quite aware of my nature too!!
So yes, things between us are quite different now. We might disagree or sometimes agree but this doesn’t bother as much as it used to be because to me, they are my family too… and there is no family where the members dont fight at all!!!
Thanks for the prayers, you and everyone. She is now recovering alhamdulillah.
So you better stop picking my specific posts, you can just pick on me only if you follow my every thread and every post!! Not just that you want to read!!
P.S. More importantly If you just skimmed reading, the incident belongs to my SIL, that is Jithani and NOT MIL…
and if in case you intend to dig my any posts thats about bashing my own MIL then I would totally agree that there was a time when I had not so good relations with my own MIL but time changes and a lot of things change accordingly too!!!
