Some of the key features that we officially know about:

  • A keyboard. It will be part of it’s touch cover. I like this.
  • There’s going to be a couple different types of keyboards: the pressure sensitive type, and then the traditional raised keys type. They are also slimmer than the 3rd party keyboards available for the iPad.
  • There’s going to be a whole bunch of colors. Yes they even have it in red :naak:!
  • Then we have a trackpad
  • And there’s also a kick stand
  • Display screen is 10.6", a whole inch bigger than the iPad
  • Has an optimized screen so no black bands when watching movies. ooooo Yippee yay!!
  • 2 USB ports
  • The Windows Pro model will run on an i5 intel processor and have up to 128 GB of internal memory!! Oh holy!!

from the description it sounds like they have invented a laptop. and call it a tablet.

an i5 processor slurps juice thru a fat straw unlike an ARM processor. will this surface thing be plugged in to the power socket at all times?

Well, it is still a little thing...almost as big as the MacBook Air 11" laptop but not quite. I guess as long as it stays below that, we can safely call it a tablet :D

I have no idea about processors and how much juice they slurp. But that is a valid issue. iPads give a good battery life and so does my Nexus. It will be interesting to find out what's the deal with this one.

I don't think its going to be that cheap, plus extra $$ for the keyboard cover. But ofcourse I gotta have it. :D

Rumors project the Surface to cost between $300 and $800. That's quite a BIG range!

the spec sheet on its website says surface will weight almost 1 kg. :hehe:

and i bet that is before the keyboard and kick stand gimmicks. just call it a laptop. :stuck_out_tongue:

That's about 2.2 lbs. My Air weights around 3lbs. Oh wow, that's quite a hefty tablet!

Today they released RT. To be honest, the tablet looks great and probably the closest real competitor to Ipad. No other tablet in the market so far came even close to Ipad.

I don't need sona chandi. OK I won't buy winter boots or new gloves. I'll use home made gloves made of tarp. How can Surface be out there and not inside my home? It's a crime.

I don’t have ANY tablet. I just have my masoom sa lappy and a masoom sa phone. U the one with 2 iPads and the kido has a Nexus. Me no have no tabby.

Me too. Honestly I dont consider Nexus a tablet. Its more like a net-book. For anything fun, you need an internet connection.
