Michigan

i gotta see that!

Re: Michigan

AE - if you were going in May you could do the tulip festival in Holland - they have parades every Saturday and fireworks at night. Very nice place to take pictures and try on wooden shoes.

Do plan another trip to MI in the middle of summer - and you could do tons of other summer activites.

Lake Kessington - paddles boats - picnic area (30 minutes from Detroit)

*Charlevoix *- very small town with small shops on one side and the lake on the other. Rent a speed boat - stay on the water the whole day. Take stuff to eat. It's not expensive at all. You have not seen lakes this pretty

Traverse City Resort - great for one day

*Muskegon *- the other side of Michigan. Michigan's adventure theme park and the city is right on lake Michigan. Great place for kids and adults. The small amusement park is ideal for little kids to run around. The other haf of the day you can watch the sunset

so you do know a bit about michigan j/k! muskegons very close to me. In the summer they have this amazing weeklong Woodstock like musical festival called rothburry with top acts like dave mathews etc! hippies galore!

sounds like fun...thanks for the info. keep posting if you think of anymore

spock...everything is near u..... conveniently...isnt it? :D

Kiddies activites in Michigan

Fish Ponds - Fun place for a family on a Saturday. They have ponds of fish for breeding (trout, catfish) - They give you fish food and fishing rods. You are always bound to catch a fish. They clean your fish. They have grills on the ground and you cook and eat and have a picnic

Dave and Busters - Utica MI - near Detroit. It’s like chuckie cheese for older kids. You my lose your hubby in this one. http://www.daveandbusters.com/play/games.aspx

**Detroit Zoo - never been there but I hear it’s good. **

Battle Creek - Kellogs factory - see how the make cereal and it’s all you can taste. yummy

**Brighton **- Ski area. Small ski slope. (on a landfil  ) has a bunny slope and lessons for kids.

Re: Michigan

Allah larki I have to work also!

Re: Michigan

I work @ Rencen center, which I feel is the best part of downtown Detroit. If you come around here...drop in and I will take you around my funky looking office complex.....most of the areas are resticted for outsiders but they have the best views of Detroit and Windsor, CA( Apun ke paas access hai). Ford museum is pretty kewl.....I have been there plenty of times and you will also find one of the biggest IMAX theaters next door to the HF museum. You might enjoy the factory tour where they make garma garam F-150 trucks. Certain parts of Dearborn are very safe.........some areas adjoining the Detroit city are run-down. Somerset mall is one of the bestest malls I have seen in US.....Brighton is a nice place to learn skiiing. Apart from that you can't do more than that in a weekend. As far as the zoo is concerned....I would drive abt 60 mins to Toledo, OH which has a very decent zoo. If you like American history....Do take the Greenfield Village tour as well...Yasmeen bakery had one of the best shuwarmas and Shaninis(kind of salted lassi/matti).
