Re: Michael Brown case:Verdict announced in Ferguson shooting

And how is his being 6 ft tall and 300 lbs relevant to the police shooting him in cold blood?

Here is one more sermon for ya - don't muddy waters

Re: Michael Brown case:Verdict announced in Ferguson shooting

Mike Brown was shot six times, including twice in the head which breaks standard protocol for self defense
Multiple eyewitness accounts of the murder of Mike Brown, all stating that the murder was unprovoked and that Michael was unarmed and had his hands up
Owner from the convenience store that Michael allegedly stole from (which is often used as a justification for his murder) stated that no one from his store called the police on Mike, and nothing was taken
First hand account from a friend of Michael’s who was with him during his murder, as well as more accounts from eyewitnesses all refuting Darren Wilson’s claims

Sooo… it’s great to be in America

Police: Video clearly shows shooting of Ohio boy, 12

The prosecutor threw the case and there are reports of the jury being a racist.

Also, it doesn’t matter if one is a thug or not. He shouldn’t be killed or be called a “demon” or “it” for being black.

Re: Michael Brown case:Verdict announced in Ferguson shooting

Sooo why don't you do some homework before you post bigoted comments.

Re: Michael Brown case:Verdict announced in Ferguson shooting

I did & policeman has not been indicted. If you have different set of facts please share it with rest of us. And there is nothing bigoted about my comments. This young man had long run-ins with police & was hardly a model citizen.

Re: Michael Brown case:Verdict announced in Ferguson shooting

uh did you read what I posted? The prosecutor threw the case. One of the juries were racist. It doesn’t matter if the person was a model citizen or not. He shouldn’t be killed.

And he is not the first black man to be killed by police brutality.

Re: Michael Brown case:Verdict announced in Ferguson shooting

Yea, b/c if he was killed by another black man it would not be a news story.

Re: Michael Brown case:Verdict announced in Ferguson shooting

rolls eyes

You know, you're ignorant. He was an unarmed man. Why do you find it justifiable?

Re: Michael Brown case:Verdict announced in Ferguson shooting

1) Stick to the topic instead of name callings.
2) Armed or unarmed there is no set proportion of force that police must use in a confrontation with a suspect. Police is justified in using lethal force if and when necessary (1) in self defense or (2) when there is perceived imminent harm to a police officer. That is why when policeman asks you to cooperate just follow the rule. If you disagree with an officer you can take legal action using the justice system.

Re: Michael Brown case:Verdict announced in Ferguson shooting

Read the links I posted earlier. I'm telling you that you are ignorant. I'm not calling you names. I'm stating a fact. You are ignorant.

Re: Michael Brown case:Verdict announced in Ferguson shooting

I maybe an ignorant, but I bet I know more about the law than you do (I practice law for living). And, grand jury's decision is non binding & if prosecutor thinks that he can prove his case he can still bring charges against the suspect. Also, whether the a juror was racist or not does not matter b/c grand jury's decision does not have to be unanimous.

Re: Michael Brown case:Verdict announced in Ferguson shooting

I have no doubt you are extremely knowledgeable in law.

There are lots of lawyers who would agree with you. Lots of prosecutors, especially from the south who would give you high fives.

The views you have expressed today here are most probably by the book. But they lack humanity. They truly do.

Re: Michael Brown case:Verdict announced in Ferguson shooting

I think we can discuss in a detailed manner whether the justice was done or no but it doesnt and shouldnt give the license to mobs for burning, looting and spreading havoc everywhere

Ferguson Documents: How The Grand Jury Reached A Decision

November 25, 2014 6:41 AM ET
EYDER PERALTAKRISHNADEV CALAMUR

After sitting through hours of testimony and reading through thousands of pages of documents, a grand jury decided that there was not enough probable cause to indict police Officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of Michael Brown, an unarmed 18-year-old.
Their decision, like the shooting that led up to all this, sparked violent protests in Ferguson, Mo., overnight.
“The duty of the grand jury is to separate fact and fiction,” the prosecuting attorney, Robert P. McCulloch, said in a televised address. After weighing the evidence, at least nine of the 12 members of the grand jury decided that Wilson acted within the limits of the lethal-force law.
In a rare move and in an attempt to allay concerns about bias, McCulloch made public the mountain of evidence that was presented to the grand jury. We’re combing through the thousands of pages — including testimony from Wilson and many witnesses — and throughout the day, we’ll update this post with the pieces that help explain how those 12 people reached their decision.
Update at 7:06 a.m. ET. Witness Testimony:
Leading up to this decision, witness testimony has been hotly debated. So much so, that the symbol of this story has become protesters raising their hands, symbolically telling police, “hands up, don’t shoot.”
We have documents of dozens of witness interviews, which we are sifting through. But if you listened to McCulloch last night, much of this jury’s decision came down to whether Brown was charging Wilson or surrendering or running away.
As The New York Times reports, one key, believable witness said Brown was charging Wilson.
NPR’s Elise Hu tells Morning Edition that Wilson testified he “felt like a 5-year-old holding on to Hulk Hogan.”
“The struggle began with Wilson inside his squad car, and he describes Brown’s hands as all over him through the open window, and says Brown landed at least two punches,” Elise says. “And Wilson says when he reached for his gun and pulled the trigger, the first two times nothing happened. It was the third pull of the trigger when the gun fired, which he said scared both him and Brown. After the initial shots, Wilson says, Brown runs. And, as has been reported, Wilson fired the fatal shot to Brown’s head after getting out of his car, when Brown was facing him, several feet away.”
Update at 6:49 a.m. ET. Wilson Testimony:
Wilson’s testimony to the grand jurypresents the image of an officer who was scared for his life during the confrontation with the larger man who was physically assaulting him. One excerpt:

Wilson is 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighs about 210 pounds. Brown was the same height and weighed about 290 pounds.
He said Brown and his associate Dorian Johnson were walking in the middle of the street, preventing normal traffic from passing. He said he told them to move to the sidewalk, and after a brief exchange Brown used a vulgarity at him. Wilson said he called for backup and tried open the door of his police car. Brown, he said, slammed the door shut. They struggled and Brown hit him in the face twice, Wilson said.
He said he thought, “What do I do to not get beaten inside my car?”
Wilson said he had considered using mace, his baton and his flashlight before drawing his gun and telling Brown, “Get back or I’m going to shoot you.” Brown then grabbed his gun, Wilson said, twisted it and dug it down into the officer’s hip. The officer said he feared he would die if Brown got hold of the gun. He said he managed to raise the gun and fired twice. It just clicked. But the third time, the gun went off, startling both men.
That’s when, Wilson said, Brown looked up at him “and had the most intense aggressive face. The only way I can describe it, it looks like a demon, that’s how angry he looked. He comes back towards me again with his hands up.”
Wilson said he tried firing again, but nothing happened. When he tried once more, it went off. Brown then hit him again, he said.
The officer said when he looked up, Brown was running away. Wilson said he got out of the car, called for backup and began chasing Brown. He said Brown then stopped and he did, too. He said he ordered Brown to get on the ground, but the 18-year-old did not. He said Brown made an “aggravated sound” and ran back toward him. He said he warned Brown repeatedly to get on the ground, but when he did not comply the officer fired “a series of shots.”
“I don’t know how many I shot, I just know I shot it,” he said.
Wilson then proceeded to explain his rationale for why he chased Brown. He said he wanted to keep Brown “contained” until support arrived. He said he thought that if he could buy 30 seconds of time, until other officers arrived, they could "make the arrest, nothing happens, we are all good.
“And it didn’t happen that way.”

A perfect diagrammatic description of what happened as per prosecutor:

How do we expect court to decide if they were lying!

Re: Michael Brown case:Verdict announced in Ferguson shooting

Yes, Brown was no angle but does every situation has to end with police officer killing the suspect? Even if he was a thug, he didn't deserve to die.

And what about the 12 year old kid with the fake gun? And the guy in Wal-Mart, both killed without a chance to explain themselves. Police killing "suspects" is becoming all too frequent.

Re: Michael Brown case:Verdict announced in Ferguson shooting

Two shots were fired inside the car. One bullet struck the door’s arm rest, and one was never found. An injury to Brown’s right thumb was probably caused by one of these because an autopsy found soot in the wound. Brown’s blood and/or DNA was found in the car, on the outside of the driver’s-side door, on the left rear door and on Wilson’s clothing and gun.

Re: Michael Brown case:Verdict announced in Ferguson shooting

He attacked the policeman. He was not shot for walking down the street.
