I think Miandad will do ok in any job which does not involve him coming into direct contact with the players all the time. That said players notably Yousuf and even the uncoachable Afridi have benefited from his batting tips in the past. A lot of Miandad’s man-management problems are sadly down to his lack of education but no one should really doubt his commitment and knowledge of the game. This post offers Miandad the ideal opportunity to oversee the development of cricket in Pakistan with the emphasis shifting back from regions to departments and private organisations. As director, Miandad has big plans to revamp Pakistan’s domestic cricket.
