even though i said load shedding rather hthn having no electricity.
but still (at least in Pakistan) security has nothing to do with light.
but then u can bring in the idea that business do get affect if there is no electricity. so yes it is true but then majority of them already using generators.
usually ppl dont use heavy appliance while generator is on and only use fan or Air conditioner (though there are many who cant live without TV.)
the point is...no electricity for the time being actually enforce the kids n their parents to actually give each other some time....family time.

I think the solution is to do just what you suggested, end the violent exposures, at least upto a certain age. There are ratings and guidelines, but I think parents have their own estimator as to what media is okay for their kid's age. Personally speaking, we were not allowed to watch certain movies (especially desi ones) until middle school. Mostly the movies we watched, if there were any conflicts, Ammi Abbu made sure to discuss with us. I think that mattered a lot because of the western environment we were in, to have our parents give us their input regarding Islam and Pakistan.
Basically expose kids to stuff that they can analyze and absorb, not just absorb. and that should be okay.

dushwari , nice topic, and no there’s no end to it, since media is propagating day by day and film industry / motion picture is part of it , also most of the times when they show or portray a character in a movie , it is inspired from a real subject or event in the society, so they shouldn’t be blamed in total for showing something like violence, shamelessness , crimes etc , however the empahasis should be put on how to refrain from such evils which could ruin one’s life .
as far as kids r concerned there should be 1) parentally controlled viewing 2) parents should engage kids in other healthy activities which helps more with their character building & healthy growth
