Ladies –

This forum has helped me over the last two years in planning my brothers & sisters weddings. Alhamdulillah everything went smooth and beautiful events. it is possible without a planner- if you have the time and are OCD like I am. I work full time, among other family obligations, yet I loved planning every aspect of the events :slight_smile:

Mayoon - Gharara theme event. decor old vintage village style. even had DJ play older music from 50s-70s; mayoon/mehndi songs
Mehndi - peacock theme event. decor was more blue, purple hues with touches of gold. made all the centerpieces, peacock sticks for entrance, etc. had a peacock carved fruit display! MY FAV THING- peacock shaped and peacock feather shape cake pops for bride and groom to eat during rasam
Shaadi - more elegant, toned down regal look with golds & maroons

  • I can go on and on about the details, but I wont bore you. I’m still at work, lol, and not much time at the moment.

Mehndi outfits:

The Dr. Haroon outfits we wore at Mehndi -
Kamdani outfits with banarsi jamewar churidaar pajamas
Red- gold & silver kamdani
Yellow- gold & silver kamdani
Teal- gold kamdani
Purple- gold kamdani

Bride- wore sania maskatiya colors: watermelon and mint . Azar/ajar pant- the most beautiful shalwar I have ever seen mA !!

Wedding:

Bhabhi- Rani Emaan
Mom- sea foam color with silver kaam- Sania Maskatiya

Make up: Nida Gazi aka the face whisperer (beauty by NG on facebook) https://www.facebook.com/BeautyByNg – she does MAC, airbrush, fashion, runway, MAC artist, trained in pakistan dupatta setting, etc – BEST ON WEST COAST IN MY OPINION. my eyemakeup stayed till the enxt day (bad, i didnt wash it off)

Alhamdulillah :smiley: Thank you everyone! here are few more details

  • mehndi plates were made to hold cake pops, fruit on bamboo toothpicks

  • Her mehndi entrance was awesome- instead of dupatta, made a chaddar of flowers, held by bamboo sticks (when i get pictures of that, will post)

  • made the wedding card box myself (i was rather proud of this, since I bought a small one last year) - we did no boxed gifts

  • mehndi centerpieces- day of sat atop covered hat boxes with same color as ribbon, blue or purple colored water and floating tea light. baraat tables had peacocks on top of birdcages- so to stand out.
    also for girls walking in- each carried smaller version of centerpiece with 2 LED lights.

  • peacock carved watermelon and small peacocks carved from apples for fruit table

  • gharara party invitation was shaped like a gharara that we made as well

i’ll share more as i edit or acquire better views from others… till then i’m off to rest, work and then back to planning a mad hatters tea party baby shower for next month-- iA… Enjoy!

thank you! my sister was saying how she lucks out to have youtube sensations dancing at her mehendi... they're amazing, mA... i think they have 4 or 5 on there.
