The Fiqh Council Of North America has determined that the first day of fasting will be on Saturday, September 23rd according to their calculations…inshAllah.

i agree however we cant really do anything about it. If our community makes a decision about ramadan we have to go with that.
Allah knows best and He knows our intentions and thats all that matters.

staart and end ramadan on diff days and so eid is also celebrated on diff days.

That is how the COMMAND is… what will you achieve celebrating EID on one day on the whole globe… Disobeying prophet:saw: and ending up worshiping on the wrong Lailat-ul-Qadar?

You arent the only one complaining...many people have.
The Fiqh Council has approx 18 scholars sitting on their board ALL which studied in Credible institutions and they ALL have contributed to the decision that has been made.
Should we argue with these scholars? Dont they know better then us? i surely hope so.

it’s all about arabs and the rest of the world vs pakis. these 2 always want a different day…nvr do it together.

but what can we do? other then send the emails like u did. Surely we cant start ramadan alone or celebrate eid alone…right? we have to go with the majority.

actually you should go with the masjid you attend. Thats what i do....and they go with ISNA which is why im following them.

There have been instance in the past in NY that the mosques that follow ISNA (part of Shura Coucil) did not agree with the decision (specially when they'd decided to go with Saudi Arabia)...

thats happened a couple times here 2…but i think majority of masjids here have unanimously decided to follow ISNA just so we can somehow be more united during ramadan and eid. This is what its all about (or should be)…unity!
Anyway Happy Ramadan…im very excited because this means i wont be wasting time on the net anymore
