re: Merged: Quranic verse that had a profound impact on you
Can’t decide…
at one hand Surah AL Fatiha tells me how we should ask things from ALLAH:swt: and it gives us news for the two great Muslim Ummah of the past, present day Jews and Christians, and what they became; it teaches me not to become like them. On the other hand Surah Baqarah at it start rightaway defines for me that faith is not faith unless it’s blind… Faith in the hidden that is…
Next time, Surah Aal-e-Imran further teaches me the histroy of previous Muslim Ummah and how they were doomed from the chosen one for they used to practice the BOOK in parts - the parts they liked but rejected the rest, and how they used to disobey their prophets and used to kill them, interpreting the divine text on their own… The same surah tells me that Muslims are only best when they call others to enjoin good and fight against the evil from within to outside…
then there are surahs that leave impact on me so that I know what to do in life in certain situations for instance Surah Nissa..
I love Surah Tauba but I think I feel more scared of it than the love of Divine music in it…
Surah Rehman - Uroos ul Quran - was the first biggest surah that I memorized (The most of it)… I love it’s recitation in the voice of Shaikh Qari Abdul Basit Abdul Samad and love the very fact that how this surah addresses both Humans and Jinns at the same time.
Surah Waqiah is the seocond Surah which I love to hear it in Qari Abdul Basit’s voice. Infact, I memorized it’s first Rukoo after keep hearing it in his voice.
Surah Yaseen… the heart of Quran is the loveliest surah of all. It’s description of how the righteous will meet ALLAH and how the peace from ALLAH be given to them, brings tears if one knows what each word means in its very context…
Surah Ghashiya.. I love reciting it myself while I am driving on a 100 Mile journey twice a week to work…
The whole last Juz of Quran is amazing and I can’t even dare to compare any of it anyway…
every surah is so much powerful that you can not simply make selection out of them… Every Surah of the last Juz is a history of an event in itself…
Barakallaho Lee walakum …
