woah what a twist...i watched the latest episode after reading the comments here, yes it might be very star plus but im so HAPPY to finally see a girl fighting back in a drama and teaching these losers a lesson in their own style and language! no more nice girl! very filmy situation no doubt but better than playing the sorry pathetic victim which was painful to watch, LOVED the expression on ahsan khan's face when his brother tells him to shut it and be nice to his wife haha i hope she makes everyone's life miserable including her psycho husband!
uff...Im so happy DURDANA and Shifa are getting what they deserve!
Kish Mish - Maham and Umer were in love from university. His father and Popoh didnt want him to marry Maham cause they wanted him to marry his Popoh's daughter Shifa. Umer's brother is Bakhtiyar. He is sort of stalking Maham, but she doesnt know that he is Umers brother. Bakhtiyar is already married to Rubab, who is treated like a slave in the house by Popoh (Durdana) and Bakhtiyar doesnt like her all that much either.
Umer fights to marry Maham, the family finally agrees, but only does a really simple wedding. After she comes to the house, Popoh makes life miserable to for Maham. Puts lots of restrictions on her, and makes her do all the house work with Rubab. Popoh acts very religious, but she really isnt. She visits a peer and gets taweez for everything. Umers father dies from a heart attack from stress. In the mean time, Bakhtiyar keeps trying to be with Maham, even though she is married to his brother.
Long story short.....Umer divorces Maham because Popoh says she is putting jutti ilzaam on your bekasoor brother. Maham goes home, Umer marries Shifa after being forced by Popoh and Bakhtiyar. Then Maham makes a plan and marries Bakhtiyar. Now she is back in the house, and calling all the shots. She is putting Popoh and Shifa in their place now, after they made her life miserable.
Omg this drama has turned into some Indian soap... BUT ... I enjoy watching it. lol. I loved that Maham didn't miss any opportunity to insult Shifa and Phupho
But, wait! Maham’s way of asserting herself is beyond bizarre. She decides to go ahead and marry her evil brother-in-law to teach her once former-but-now-in-laws-again a lesson?? This is seriously problematic!!! Is this what a woman oriented story means these days?? Is this the moral we are supposed to take from this – in order for a woman to seek justice she should not be expected to depend on herself, her family, her education, rather she should stoop to the lowest level possible and destroy another woman’s home to seek revenge? Wow – talk about taking the phrase “sleeping with the enemy” a little bit too literally!
Given the number of women in our country who suffer through similar unfortunate circumstances, this is what we want them to take away? Is this how we go about empowering our female audiences? Rather than presenting an inovative way forward why is MD Productions churning out the same old drivel? Wrapped up in a glitzy package we see the same old regressive messages being reinforced: A woman’s education means zip zero zilch. She is nothing on her own. In order to assert herself she must have a husband, even if he is the root cause of her misery.
If this is how a strong woman is being defined in Pakistan these days, then, NO THANK YOU, I’m very happy as a weak woman.
^^ Agree. There are too many copy/paste reviews of too many things.
Khair yes the drama probably doesn't make much sense but I like how Maham has become all evil.
I don't take this drama too seriously. It is ENTERTAINMENT - nothing more. I am not walking away with any messages like I am Humsafar and Maat. Alot of time times things in drama (reel) tend to be much more exaggerated to make sure that the viewer is seeing the POV of the author. It is harder when character is more subtle to see his/her flaws....typically in REAL life things are not purely IN BLACK AND WHITE.
I do feel that Mahum's character is expoited for being Shareef both by her in-laws and her family especially her bhabi. Something snaps in her to make her do these things. It is definitely a far fetched story but it sort of has poetic justice.
This play is way out there, and for the record I'm no big fan...but man the gratification when Mehwish hands it to shifa, phuphi, umar, her bhabhi is so GOOD. I love it!!! :D
