Mental Beauty vs. Physical Beauty...

So, which is better?

Re: Mental Beauty vs. Physical Beauty...

Mental of course. Good looks alone gets boring very fast.

Re: Mental Beauty vs. Physical Beauty...

none.. beauty is evil :-P

Re: Mental Beauty vs. Physical Beauty...

both..you can't screw a brain.

Re: Mental Beauty vs. Physical Beauty…

I was just reading in the newspaper today that studies carried out in America showed that attractive and thin women are more likely to get married and have successful careers compared to their fat unattractive counterparts, even though the latter may hold a 4-year university degree that the thin attractive woman doesn’t.

Now how’s that for superficiality.

Re: Mental Beauty vs. Physical Beauty...

Pinnay, try using your head for a change.

Re: Mental Beauty vs. Physical Beauty...

It's not superficial. A woman who takes care of herself is more likely to reflect a professional attitude. A fat woman who looks like a slob with her lipstick all askew will not get hired. Why should she?

Re: Mental Beauty vs. Physical Beauty...

AJ, I would think that is a foregone conclusion.

Re: Mental Beauty vs. Physical Beauty...

SS, who says fat women aren't concerned with how they look. Fat women can't be dumber - not from what I've seen.

Re: Mental Beauty vs. Physical Beauty...

If they're concerned with how they look, why are they fat? Being overweight is an abnormality in my opinion. It's not healthy, it's not aesthetically attractive, and even in Islam we are told to be thin and healthy.

Re: Mental Beauty vs. Physical Beauty...

So half of America is abnormal? lol I agree Islamically we're supposed to be fit and healthy. Btw, I used to be of the same opinion as you but I like to give people more credit and not be so judgemental. It's discrimination.

Re: Mental Beauty vs. Physical Beauty...

I don't have respect for people who downs cakes and chips by the dozens. If someone can't take care of themself, I am not going to trust them with my patronage.

Re: Mental Beauty vs. Physical Beauty...

Not to mention I am not particularly happy that my tax money goes to fix their hearts after they very cognizantly ruin them themselves.

Re: Mental Beauty vs. Physical Beauty...

Let's not go to extremes, if a person who is obese and can't take 5 steps without puffing and panting, then its just wrong. A woman who is overweight and naturally unattractive may have a harder time finding a job. I think its similar to a woman wearing hijab and being declined due to how she looks.

Re: Mental Beauty vs. Physical Beauty...

^agree

Re: Mental Beauty vs. Physical Beauty...

I agree with Cattie. Some people will always be larger and far from 'thin', despite working out regularly and being healthy. It's one thing to be overweight and not be doing anything about it, it's another to actually be making an effort to eat right, exercise, yet still remain larger than all the size 5 girls out there. A lot of it comes down to genes and bone structure. Regardless of whether you are thin or fuller than the average woman out there, a person should be taking care of their appearance. Anyway, plenty of skinny minnys out there look horrid too you know.

Re: Mental Beauty vs. Physical Beauty...

Agreed MQ

Re: Mental Beauty vs. Physical Beauty...

Yeah, I've always believed in mentals too...The more mental they are the better...Looks can fade but character lasts forever...And I too would prefer an intellectualy gifted partner over Aishwariya anyday...But it wouldn't hurt if she looked like Priyanka Chopra either...:)

Re: Mental Beauty vs. Physical Beauty…

there are eating disorders. medical conditions and such. so no they arent always to blame.

ps I love cake and chips. Chocolate cake.

Re: Mental Beauty vs. Physical Beauty...

skinny minnies can look horrid too? :p Mehnaz you're right, no amount of excercise will make a voluptuous girl look like Kate Moss.
