Re: Menses and restrictions on women (merged)
QueenBee, as soon as you start to menstruate, I believe you can eat and drink. That is because your fast is no longer valid and it will have to be made up at a later time.

Re: Menses and restrictions on women (merged)
i see. thanks for clarifying sadiyah
I thought you have to carry on with your roza and not eat or drink anything that day when your menstruation starts and break it as usual but later still you have to make up for it.
Re: Menses and restrictions on women (merged)
You can SLAP yourself really hard for not doing the reading and blindly following the mullah made Islam. They made all these rules of women can't do this and that to supress them. Allah is the Rahmaan and ONLY asked that men not have sex with you because it would not be easy. That's the ONLY thing forbidden in Quran for women during their periods. The rest is man-made.
Re: Menses and restrictions on women (merged)
^ funguy, now that u r done reading the Quran, also try reading ahadith, so that u can gain more understanding of the religion....
the verse that tells u to abstain from having sex with ur wife when she is having her periods tells u to stay away until she has regained TAHAARA....
which means that during this time she is not in state of TAHAARA and hence, other restrictions on her....
Re: Menses and restrictions on women (merged)
yh intercourse is not the olny thing restricted on a wome. read the hadith’s. a women on her peroids isimpure in islam and then how can u touch somehting as pure as the quraan when ur impure??
yh fatsing, namaaz, etc. are not allowed.
Re: Menses and restrictions on women (merged)
ur not supposed to fast when u get ur cramps..u shud know dat:rolleyes:
Re: Menses and restrictions on women (merged)
^ now we’ve backed up the na-paaki days to cramping. You know, women start to cramp in the PMS stage, which comes before the first day of bleeding.
So…I’m having cramps lately…does that mean I don’t need to fast? :halo:
Re: Menses and restrictions on women (merged)
Well the main reason when cramps feel worse are when you don’t have food in your stomach. If you can hold the pain, good for you but it is not a pathar ki lakeer that you can’t eat when you have gotten ur periods. I started eating soon after I got my periods during roza becuz i felt i was gonna collapse due to pain at work
and beside i had to make up that roza anyways…so i didn’t see any point in keeping it.
Re: Menses and restrictions on women (merged)
So you’re saying that Hadith can specifically forbid something that the Quran hasn’t forbidden?
Re: Menses and restrictions on women (merged)
No, this is their thinking. Since the Quran refers to women in menses as "unclean" and since you are prohibited from fasting in an "unclean" state also mentioned in the Quran, then the logical connection between the two separated verses in the Quran is that a woman with menses cannot fast.
Why did God not mention this directly when He gave examples in the Quran of when one is not allowed to fast, and why we have to make this jump in logical connections between two versus who knows?
What I'd like to know is whether the same arabic word "unclean" is used in the two separate versus.
Re: Menses and restrictions on women (merged)
I guess I asked a question before and nobody answered it. Looks like “experts” are absent… ![]()
Re: Menses and restrictions on women (merged)
Kyun? Are u due to have a period in the upcoming days that you need an answer?
Re: Menses and restrictions on women (merged)
^ No I thought the experts might have some "desi totka" related to this issue.
Re: Menses and restrictions on women (merged)
“None shall touch but those who are clean” (Sura 56).
i found that aayat on the internet. so sum1 plz confirm if it is in the quraan. then if it is. then qurana had 4bidden it aswell..
