I would have stated it as cosmetic surgeries which are unnecessary are against islamic teachings.
Then the issue of what is necessary comes into play, and that is a very long debate.
I personally am too damn good looking to need cosmetic surgery, they will just ruin a good thing going. God is a better designer in my case than some med school hack. did i also note that I am also the most modest person? also that I am a compulsive liar.
anyways..point being much of cosmetic surgery can be considered unnecessary and vain, but not all, and it may vary person to person and situation to situation.

depending on the situation it can be necessary for someone, and if it is, go for it.
