so you guys really don’t think that there are too many women? I understand that ppl are being picky but maybe desi genders numbers are not equivalent. I see so many daughters and only one son proposals going around.

There are much more women than men in the world, so of course there are going to be many more single women than single men, so the divine solution for this is polygamy.

Brilliant post.. One thing that is very slightly not plausible: You say: Avg guys get to marry pretty girls more… Good looking guys also only marry pretty girls usually.. How’s that possible if you assume a normal / even distribution of looks… How can both average guys (or a significant portion of them) and good looking guys (most of them) both marry pretty girls.

Most girls are usually considered ‘pretty’ to men. honestly, the amount of times i’ve heard men saying ‘you should see his wife, she is sooooo beautiful’ and i expect the wife to look like a supermodel but then i see her and i’m like… um, really? not trying to be rude, i would never call a woman ugly either but i don’t use the ‘b’ word unless they are truly beautiful. seems like if she is thin, glam and wears enough make up then she is considered pretty to any man.

not true, men tend to be more picky and objective when it comes to assessing beauty, some men compliment other women out of courtesy but many times we don’t mean it

There aren’t more women if you look at the stats.. I think it just seems that way because most of our girls are basically waiting around to be asked and don’t generally go out looking or have as much opportunity as the men do to mingle with the opp gender.. less chance or opportunity = more panic.. There are other factors such as guys going back home to marry, parents being very firm on a certain ethnicity, race, caste when they’re already only like 2% of the population abroad (if that) and so on as well.. If your pool of potentials is small why make it even smaller? It’s something I’ve never been able to get my head around and the guys usually have a bit more leeway in that respect as well..

Think about when you were a kid.. Did you notice a much higher number of desi girls than boys? I’m guessing not.. The numbers are the same but the other stuff make it seem like there’s an imbalance..

Then speak to shorter girls. I see this issue with short girls though the most. They are 5’ 2" and want a man who is 6 feet tall. As a female you do want someone who is taller than you but this is ridiculous. I am 5" 6" and was fine with anyone 5’ 8" or more. If I were shorter than a shorter man would do.

I’m the same height as you brother and trust me 5’9"(no shoes) is not short for men. At least not here in Texas. There are plenty of shorter girls out there who’re perfectly fine with that height so don’t fret this rejection.

It is short if the girl is 5’8" herself. However, the good thing is most Pakistani girls aren’t that tall. At least the ones who grew up in Pakistan aren’t. Don’t know about ones raised over here though.

That’s not true. You could be amazing, and amazing is running after a girl who looks like a barbie doll because she vomits after she eats and puts on way too much make-up and has a 100 dollar hair appointment every Friday, Saturday night for each dawat she hops too, like a bonified desi paris hilton.

Yeah I feel ya @Pisiform. I’m assuming you’re a medical student based on your username. Have you had much interaction with Pakistani girls in your med school? I literally had 0 Pakistani girls in my school, a lot of Indians though.

I’m a 5’11" educated family-oriented guy and I haven’t had much luck. But I’ve had limited interaction with Pakistanis girls–been studying so much all my life to become a doctor in the US (which is ridiculously tough and extremely long process in the US) never got a chance to even look for women properly. Wasted my prime. Wish I had found a girl in school–if you have Pakistani girls in your school and they’re decent, grab her man, youll find one eventually but it gets harder.

The ones in my community (in US) who were near my age at least did not match well with me–either they acted ghetto or were ABCDs or just way too flirty with all the guys was a turn off. Some guys are jerks and ended up using these girls for their fun and then dumping them to marry more “decent” and “traditional” girls and then these poor girls ended up marrying outside of the religion and culture (black guy, hindu guy, and Chinese guy). They said these guys were less judgemental than desi guys and fit better with their mindsets. And a lot of girls in my community dont even become fully educated and are discouraged by their parents, theyre married off instead. So the potential market in my area is very limited. Any other people see this backwards phenomenon in their community also? So yeah its getting bad in my community..

Haha parents making me attend one of those ISNA ristha events..sigh guess it’s come to that..maybe next year lol
