I wonder .... is there a line to be drawn? Is it ok to compare to your old girlfriends too? you know, for some constructive criticism? Or your sisters or other women in your life who meant more to you than say, a friend's wife?
Your cousin is probably too old, or may be she didn't try hard enough to get back in shape.
It's my cousins wife. She's like, 31. With 3 kids
And she did plenty, she was positively a stick even after 3 children. She was fine before she married my ass of a cousin.
What I meant to say is that she put the same pressure on herself as you seem to and her husband constantly made the same "motivational" remarks as you say yours does. Didn't last did it? He was tactless and made her feel like she would be unattractive if she had the slightest fat on her. And she became obsessed with being skinny and always worried about her husbands comments.

No, that's definitely not Ok.
I think it kind of depends...if a wife is trying to maintain herself with whatever time and means she has, or maintains the home or tries to be a good cook the husband shouldn't be so crass as t compare her. What matters most is the effort she puts in to saving money, keeping a good home, taking care of kids, keeping herself fit, whatever the things the husband finds important..
But even to use them as an example, is dangerous territory. I wonder how happy these men would be if their wives kept comparing them to other men.

But whatever works for you guys.
So how come she's well chubby now?
...I know what you're trying to say but first of all I'm not trying to become skinny, he doesn't want me to become size 0 or even 6. Also, I sound serious about losing weight and becoming fit but I'm not under any pressure and I think I'd be more confident if I'm in the right shape.

She finally had enough of his remarks such as "you don't want to end up looking like so and so".
What he expected her body to be was ridiculous as it couldn't just be maintained by eating right and exercising. It was too much exercise for someone who has 3 little ones and a restrictive diet.
She's about a size 10 now, maybe 12. She used to be about a 6. All she started to do is eat properly.
You said in another thread you want to be a UK Size 4? That is a USA Size 0. Imo that doesn't sound healthy.
Anyway, you know best. I can't guess if you routinely get headaches or not from not eating properly or pushing the exercise too far. But I do know that the people who eat well need to run/gym everyday too, to keep slim. Mother's of young children don't have that luxury and end up skipping meals instead to keep their figures.
I hope you are doing it for yourself and not because of your husband's "motivational" comments.
Slight change of topic. Does he do anything for you? Like go the gym regularly?
^yes my husband goes to the gym regularly and always been very sporty person.
I'm sorry but I don't agree that women with kids or jobs who don't have time for gym have any excuse not to be fit and healthy, also about the unhealthy eating topic, facts show that majority who suffer from eating disorders are teenage girls not housewives or working women.
I did say that about size 4 but my husband thinks even size 8 is too skinny, I don't think we are like your cousin and his wife. lol

my husband has never praised another woman except his mother n im totally cool with that, he does comment on celebs etc like they r hot or not but thats just it.
a guy like that sud be given a taste of his own med, the wife sud start praising other men. and make him feel like crap a total loser..coz thats what he is.

Good to know because they are just scary and your posts about wanting to be a size 4 and saying he motivates you by saying "you don't want to look like so and so", sounded the same kind of scenario.
So how are women with kids supposed to make time for regular exercise? I think I remember you saying that you'd like someone to be able to take care of the kids for an hour so you can go for your run. I know you homeschool but most mothers I know with more than 2 young children have plenty of stuff to do during the few hours the kids the out of the house too.
And I wasn't talking about stats. Most mothers are more interested in eating well (whether or not they can keep slim) so they can look after everyone. In my experience, the ones who are super slim, just don't eat and go around popping pills for their headaches. Not your approach of eating healthy and exercising... that's too much work for most.
^i think this is a brilliant topic for health n fitness, i'd like to talk about more in that forum inshallah but in short, lots of married and mothers of 2/3 kids have been my inspirations who got back in shape, just get the TV and couch out of your livingroom ladies and you have plenty of time.lol
Oh ok. Well, whatever size she is now, she is a lil chubby. But I was trying to point out that she's more of a 'normal' size now that she's eating normally. You might have read that I didn't approve of her size 6 figure as she lost all her cuves. I think she was a 8-10 (UK) before she got married and looked great. But coming off a strict diet regime spanning about 10 years has caused her to overshoot that and in a very small time period.
Anyways, I don't want to offend anyone but size 12 (UK) is the start of what I think is chubby. But as long as one isn't medically overweight and is happy, who cares.
I think UK 10-12 is equivalent to a US 6-8 isnt it?
UK 10-12 is equivalent to USA 8-10.

ive seen women size 12 , who are not the slighest bit chubby , people have different structures , ive seen girls with size 10 tops but size 12 trousers.
sizes are getting smaller and smaller.. or maybe ppl r getting bigger and bigger.
