Men in dupattas

Re: Men in dupattas

Hate them!

Re: Men in dupattas

May I give my opinion on this matter?

Others have expressed simmilar views and I would just like to expand on those details provided by TLK and KKF bhai.

The mens "duppata" in the first few images is actually not a duppata at all.

This garment is actually as KKF says in rural areas a neccesity and TLK bhai was also right it is an unwrapped turban too.

Where I come from this garment is only worn by men of high regard or socail status, particualrly the warriors and the working class. Men who might not be the richest but they have great honour and wear the cloth over the right shoulder, in days off old they would quickly wrap this over thier heads before fight to lessen the impact of lathi's, since guns and even swords were a rarity.

Its now become a fashion symbol but I still have a battered old cloth from Pakistan with tassels along the sides, I would wear it over the shoulder and walk proudly among the people like the grand old duke or whatever.

I agree with BBC! Shahid hot, Abhishek not!

I don’t see a problem with the dupattas. I like them on special occassions like mehndis. And it’s mostly young men who are part of the wedding party. It would be a problem if they were orrhing the chaadar on their head a la shahrukh khan in mehndi laga ke rakhna :cb:

Re: Men in dupattas

Also, when its worn like this with a turban, it reminds me of the Mughal era. :hmmm:

Not sure why dulha bhai needs the weapon though…

Restored attachments:

Is he Punjabi? :hmmm:

And that whole outfit is hot!

Re: Men in dupattas

It's called ishtyle.

Caution - only manly men can carry this look off. :)

These days, actor Shaan wears it quite often on his GEO morning show, wrapped around his neck loosely, something like a long scarf.
Again for style.

Re: Men in dupattas

manly men like chuck noori, jackie khan, arnold shalwarknicker, khalid van dam..

Re: Men in dupattas

I’m not sure but he did show up under “Pakistani groom” so yayy for hot Paki man!

Re: Men in dupattas

:hehe: Maybe the last two.

Re: Men in dupattas

Aren't those called *patkhays *?
Anyways, I don't mind seeing them on special occasions like dholkis/mehndi, but I would faint if I see ppl wearing it to masjids, 'normal' gatherings...

Re: Men in dupattas

I don’t think it looks bad. If a guy is hot… it looks even better. No issues there :biggthumb:
