I doubt psyah ad Mehnaz are saying to starve your sons.
It’s pretty common in desi families for the sons to be prioritised when it comes to food. They are asked what they specifically want to eat, how much they want to eat and they are even served before the daughters etc etc.
I think the point about not spoiling sons in that way is fair…otherwise they’ll grow up thinking men and women aren’t equal, and as soon as a guy believes women are inferior to him you enter a sticky situation.
About men who abuse women, they’re the scum of the earth and I wouldn’t stand for it. I do realise it’s so easy to say you’d leave him but in reality most abused women are made to feel that they deserved the punishment and more often then not they’re made to feel entirely dependable on their partner. Therefore, making it harder for them to leave him and end the relationship.
