Tell him next time he has a dream about her , he should let you send that email on his behalf to find out if she was OK and you would let him know whatever her response is.
Tell him that it is good for his sanity and yours.
What if she was really in trouble or divorced , would he go and fix the things for her or offer to marry her ? 
Mama, I am with you on this one, he's completely out of line. Men are such morons and wanting to do 'good' with 'good intentions' and piss everyone else off and are completely oblivious to that this 'goodness' is always for exes!!!!!!!!!
