I actually think desi men are more keen on going down the arranged marriage route than the girls, prob because at the end of the day they are given more freedom to choose (and/or turn down if they don't like the 'potential') what she should be like whereas if a girl comes out with the same stuff (eg need to feel a 'spark' at first meeting, nice body, v.attractive face etc.) she gets labelled as fussy. Asian mothers tend to go all out to please their sons but when they're looking for boys for their daughters stuff they are after like attraction and chemistry are often thought of as not so important..
