I get the feeling that women are naturally greedy for a big fat house (or houses!) and a filthy rich husband! Whereas, men are naturally greedy for a sexy looking wife!

Celebs are the best examples…

Aishwarya Rai: Very pretty. Doesn’t hold a degree, gave up her education.

Abhishek Bachan: Not-so-pretty! Not so educated either. Went to a uni in US but left education mid-way. Falls for karishma, doesn’t get her and then, I quote, stands on the balcony of his new york hotel and stares at aish and dreams about marrying her? Perv! How many other actresses has he “dreamt” about?

Filthy rich? Hell yeah!!!

Shilpa Shetty: Very pretty. Doesn’t hold a degree.

Raj Kundra: Not-so-pretty! Education? Left education at the age of 21. Well spoken? Not really! Filthy rich? Damnnnnn!!

Preity Zinta: Very pretty. Holds a degree in criminal psychology.

Ness Wadia: Handsome. Educated. Filthy rich. Why didn’t it work out between the two? Would it have worked out if he wasn’t educated and didn’t have opinions and had always ran after her like a pet?

Or perhaps, being an educated, intelligent woman, she looked for more in a man than just money. Unlike aish and shilpa and raveena and amrita and various other actresses!!

And yesterday I came across this: **Haifa Wehbe marries the king of steel, Ahmad Abu Hashima! **

Haifa Wehbe: A little artificial but very pretty. Completely jaahil. Can’t sing!

Her new hubby: His title, “The king of steel”, in the middle east, says it all!!

Her wedding cost 10 million dollars, her guests arrived at the wedding in 150 private jets, her dowry is 20 million dollars (apparently, in her culture, the groom gives the dowry before the wedding!) and her Haq Mehr is 40 million dollars.

Look at the size of this cake!!!

In total, Abu Hashima spent **~70 million dollars **on marrying this jaahil but sexy woman! And he is sooooo-not-good-looking himself… So why did a pretty woman like her marry him?? Plz don’t tell me he’s of a good character! Coz he ain’t!

There is only a handful of celebs who married someone who’s not a celeb e.g. maadhuri (but her hubby is a well-off NRI), and shahrukh (**but **he married her before his fame).

Women, in general, are greedy for wealth… and men, in general, are just after pretty faces! Discuss.

Um sometimes men marry girls from rich khandaan so they can emotionally blackmail her and her parents and live off her father's monies. We have seen plenty of examples here in life 1. Sometimes gals want sexy husbands. I want one too.

There's nothing wrong in wanting a sexy wife or a rich husband as long as its not **the only **requirement that you have for your future spouse. He/she should be balanced in every way, a decent body, good education, well spoken, loving n caring etc etc etc.... what I have seen is that if a man is a millionaire, a woman won't really care about any of his other attributes, and if a woman is sexy, a man won't care about anything else.....

You're using female celebrities who were RICH to begin with as examples? LOL

Most men feel intimidated by women who have more money than them/ are more successful than they are. So what choice will such women have than marry someone who is

a). even richer than them?
b). more successful than them?

Now If we talk about women in general. What's wrong with choosing someone who is financially stable and will be able to take good care of them. Why would you call her a golddigger?

Barbie, normally I always agree with you, but here you really don't have a strong argument. Celebrities don't represent the mojorty of the world, therefore, you can't use them as proof to make a **general **statement.

That being said, wanting a pretty face and someone with a deep wallet don't go hand in hand together. These are two separate factors of life.

You will almost never(there are always exceptions) find someone who will CHOOSE to marry an ugly person over a pretty one. Its in our nature to like some one good looking.

As far as the wealth goes, you WILL find people/ celebs who ignore the rich and millionaires because they don't find it necessary to have so much money, however, some people only run after the rich.

I really cannot believe they spent so much money on their wedding. The cake looks like a dinosaur pooped and they painted it white.

All horrible and too extravagant. This is the reason our Muslim brothers are getting bombed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

We all know that the celebs don't have a permanent career. They need financial security. Especially women! As I said before, there's nothing wrong in wanting a rich husband as long as its not the only thing you're worried about.

Secondly, myself and almost everyone here on GS has seen real life examples of this scenario too.. I used celebs as examples because everyone can relate to them better.

If someone wants to marry a guy who has good job and financial stability, I don't think that's gold digger at all. That's smart!

And like Gaia mentioned, this is just a bad representation of what you are trying to say. I know a lot of people who married each other without lookin at their bank balances. I know pretty good looking guys who married very average girls!

Yes Gaia, I agree with the statement in bold. There are examples of such people. But only a handful. Unfortunately, nowadays **most **people are very materialistic.

^ Jaahil is not the same as illiterate. By jaahil I was implying dumbness. Haifa wehbe is like paris hilton... sexy but dumb!

My mother doesn't hold a degree but she is an inspirational woman to me. Nuff said.
