Men and their wandering eyes

Re: Men and their wandering eyes

Agreed sugarplum. but “the women who dont dress appropriately” dont have the rights to BITCH about men who leer at them inappropriately. The bitching is reserved for the ones (women) who dress according to sharia.

it’s like the pot calling the kettle black.

Re: Men and their wandering eyes

just let the thread die....u 2 are going back and forth in circles...it's useles.

Re: Men and their wandering eyes

It’s a relatively simple argument.

Women who dress inappropriately = transgressor
Men who leer = transgressor

If i am an ogler and I gawk at ALL women, including the “properly clothed ones,” dontcha think it would be quite a double-standard of me to open a thread titled" why women dont cover up?"

If you are even semi-intelligent, you will see through my rational logic.
None of these comments is directed at you Angel.

Re: Men and their wandering eyes

I'm not talking about women complaining. I'm saying 2 wrongs doesn't make a right. If you are a muslim man, regardless of what a female is wearing, if you think its a turn on, look away. You don't have a right to look at her because she chose to wear what she wore. The Quran would have said so, if you were exempted to oggle and rape women who wore anything less than a burqa.

Dope, read the inital entry again, and check out who is doing the complaining. It sure isn't the woman wearing the see-thru clothes.

Re: Men and their wandering eyes

Dope, yh ur rite…

Both men n women r responsible… women shud stop dressin like sluts and guys shud not be pervs who look at every girl, even the niqabis/hijabis (in case in pakistan). A girl in a miniskirt, showing her boobs and legs, has no right to complainaabout pervy guys. But okay… last nite i took a cab, a 10-min drive to my house from the trainstation (coz our area is freakin messed up :grumpy: ) and the driver was just .. ugh… even tho i swear i looked like crap, i wasn’t even dressed in that way n plus it was DARK so how hte hell he see anything :grumpy: But iw ont be taking cabs anytime soon :frowning:

Re: Men and their wandering eyes

Well, i'm sure someone out there is going to say that you did not wear a burqa or abaya and hence you have no reason to complain, sara.

Re: Men and their wandering eyes

Well, I was pretty covered pcg.... tank top with a buttond own shirt over and a long skirt... and anyway it was DARK! u cudnt even c anything anyway. theres a certain standard.. maybe this wud be too revealing in pak, n thas understandable, but not over here..

Re: Men and their wandering eyes

And you think every muslim living in the United States thinks you're wearing halaal clothes?

Re: Men and their wandering eyes

I definitely think I am and you'd hav to be crazy not to agree. Okay fine, no headscarf, but we're not talking about what i"m nto wearing :p

Re: Men and their wandering eyes

:hehe: Allow me to introduce to you the mullah brigade of GS.

Re: Men and their wandering eyes

I am not going to get into an argument regarding what constitutes "appropriate clothing (whether it’s hijab, abaya, or crotchless panties). Once again, you have put words in my mouth regarding the Quran reference, a practice you are notoriously fond of. When did i make an allusion to that?

If you are dressed modestly, per islamic sharia, and yet get leered at, then you have valid point to gripe. Your post to Chel about how men dont have the PERMISSION to leer is quite akin to griping.

Sara said it right, two wrongs dont make a right. But you insist on thinking that i am somehow condoning men who leer at women - well, I am not. It’'s just the "inappropriately clad"women whining about it that gives me cankers.

Re: Men and their wandering eyes

I know the mullah brigade darling, it’s all gud

Re: Men and their wandering eyes

That differs from scholar to scholar. So who is allowed to gripe or not, please do tell us. Who's yo mullah?

Your post to Chel about how men dont have the PERMISSION to leer is quite akin to griping.

No, its not akin to griping - its reinstating what is already said in the Quran. You are COMMANDED to lower your gaze, and by not doing so, you are sinning. And you are responsible for your sin. The person who tempted you has their own account to take care of, but you wont be excused because the person was wearing skimpy clothes. Is that what you think? Please clarify.

Sara said it right, two wrongs dont make a right.

I can't speak for what Sara said and when, but scroll up and you'll see I said that.

But you insist on thinking that i am somehow condoning men who leer at women - well, I am not.

Neither am I. Refer to my first point in this post, and you'll see that. I was never griping, I was simply saying what you're saying. But if a girl says what a guy should/should not do - its griping?

So, then I guess males have no right to comment on female issues and rights, etc either?

It''s just the "inappropriately clad"women whining about it that gives me cankers.

Are u implying that I am "inappropriately clad"?

Re: Men and their wandering eyes

i know its not directed towards me…because I for one understand what ur saying..i even agree with it.

Re: Men and their wandering eyes

but who is saying that it’s ok for men to look? i dont think dope ever said that is was right.

Re: Men and their wandering eyes

The reasoning is somewhat circular. If you say that the woman who is scandelously dressed has no right to complain, you are actually saying that its OK for a man to look at her like that.

The reason I say this is in context of law and order. I'm not just talking about looking by the way, I'm also talking about touching, feeling up, harassing, raping, etc.

I'll take looking as an example. Say you have a girl who is at work, and she wears a skirt that goes up to mid-thigh. This is common in the western work environment. Lets say the guy who is at her work who is her boss is harassing her - by leering at her - not taking her seriously - cracking sex jokes with her etc etc.

She can, legally go to court on him for harassment charges.

If what dope is saying is true, then she can't take him to court at all, and therefore LEGALLY what he is doing is PERMITTED by STATE. (if dope's rule were to be applied as a law).

Re: Men and their wandering eyes

just too much to read

anyways so cmon now lets forget all other sects and be a bit more perticular abt DESI ppl

WHO LIKES TO SHOW MORE OF THEIR SKIN ?

i mean cmon u wont see a guy wearing NET shirts, but even in pakistan u can always tell the cute colour of gurls bra :)

WHO LIKES TO BE CENTER OF ATTENTION?

well, its statisticaly proven that girls have more tendency towards bieng center of attention, and cmon everybody know flashing ur flush flush lol is one of the best way to get it:)

there are alot more questions to be asked but anyways, saying EVEN IF A GUL WEAR SHORT DRESSES Y MEN GET TEMPTED. well i find it the same as IF THERE IS A CLEARENCE SALE HOW COME DESI ANTYs WOULD BE THE FIRST ONE CHEKING THROUGH THEM lol

or like IF A GUL IS OFFERED KOH-I-NOOR WONT SHE GO FOR IT ?

and since i love teasing leme put down a hadith which says more or less like ** on the day of judgement 1 woman would cause 4 men in hell ** and in one more place prophet said more or less ** EVERY PROPHET's NATION WOULD BE EXPERIMENTED BY A SUFFERING AND MY NATION WUD BE TESTED WITH WOMAN **

Re: Men and their wandering eyes

In a perfect world, women would dress properly and men would lower their gaze. But that isn't the case, women will dress however they want and men will look wherever they want. Live and let live.

Re: Men and their wandering eyes

Forget skirts and push ups...lets talk about girls in shalwar kameez.

Short kameez, high chaak (?) tight shalwars. They bend down to pick something up, they're flashing their sides and whatever else.

Is that digusting?

I find men who find incidents like that disgusting, pathetic. You can't control your eyes and then feel the girl is sub-standard or has no sharam or whatever.

Re: Men and their wandering eyes

^ Actually both parties are substandard, therefore they deserve each other.
