men and staring

I did and I think she is doing a right thing to protect herself . But generalizing it to the fact that only Pakistani men do it is not entirely correct . Though I do agree that level of sexual frustration is more in Pakistani men to some extent . May be there is something with all the chicken curry we eat , but it does excite our hormones . Again , not a valid excuse .

PS: This thread will now turn into a hijabi debate.

Re: men and staring

I don't go to the type of parties you go to, so sorry I have no clue what you're talking about. For me, modesty is not so much about a cloth on your head but also your behavior and the venues you hang out at. So, sorry. I have not probably seen the kind
of stuff you have.

:omg: Am I a genius or what!

Re: men and staring

Dang ..

I am so sorry jee. We guys always thought that you ladies like to be admired by a total stranger. :frowning:

So all those bollywood movies where the girl fell in love with the hero, because he was gawking her in the party, were not true. Damn you bollywood, damn you. :bummer:

Re: men and staring

I was born in pakistan, but raised and educated mostly abroad ... and I have to agree with MIA ... nobody has the staring "art" down like the men in pakistan ...

and nomi ... I'm very very familar with the campus crowd and the parties you are referring to ... the behavior there is mostly consensual ...

what the ladies talking about here is unwanted attention ... two different animals ... you cant compare

Re: men and staring

It's going to take some time before jahalat fully settles in (like in west) until then deal with the awkwardness or pray we get another dictator like Zia-ul-Haq sahab insh'Allah.

puts on flame suit

Yup consensual is the keyword here . But haven't you noticed on road , goray staring at other women . Ok that stare is not as intense as Pakistani one , but they do , do that . Isn't it ?

Yes it's true! All over the world, it's nature ;).

. . . and thats exactly my point is . :p

My next thread topic ''only a man can understand a man'' :D

Nami aapki beti ko koi aise pervy nazron se dekhe gaa to phir mein dekhun gi how well u understand men :@:

yea, they do ... no doubt ... but its a glance ... or sometimes a second look ... not the intense, scary stare that makes a woman want to put on metal garb :D
Trust me, its no fun to be on the receiving end of such attention ... AND as others have said ... its quite noticeable even by the males that accompany us ... it makes them mad ...
I have a feeling that for all your words here ... you'd be the first one up in arms if the women of your household/acquaintance were being visually undressed or physically felt up ... no?? ... hein hein ... bolo bolo ... bloooo naaaa :@:

It’s a professional glance, they’ve perfected it, it’s like second nature. :omg:

In Pakistan, they’re getting used to it, thora time lagay ga but don’t you worry wo b professional hojaye ge.

Re: men and staring

I wear hijab and went to pakistan and still had the same staring problem. I was going to wear the niqab chaddar style because it was bothering me, but my young male cousin (who lives in pak) says that worse..the men would stare more - because its the mystery of what she looks like behind the veil that intrigues them. :S.

once i was at the pindi bazaar with my mom and aunts and this loser would walk pass by and "brush" my shoulder..then he came back and did it again...then the third time he made the most nastiest comment and was going to walk by..that's when i stuck my foot out and the loser tripped and fell flat on his face. Pssh! Don't mess with this firangi you fob.

one of my relatives lives in pakistan and wears a niqab. she was shopping at the bazaar and this loser would repeatedly "brush" pass her. the last time he brushed past and walk off, my cousin walked up to him, tapped his shoulder..he turned around and she slapped him squarely on the face and told him off. Pssh! Don't mess with this niqabi you fob.

Actually dont mess with any of my family members..we are quite fiesty. lol.

:omg:

believe it or not TLK bhai i was going to say the exact same thing :rotfl:

Re: men and staring

Women women calm down . I am very protective and been into couple of fights for the very same reason . All in Pakistan and not ashamed of it at all .

I admit that it IS a problem in Pakistan , but we should not single out Pakistani men . I have seen goray fighting over that why you looked at my woman ? . So its a world wide trend . Thats my ONLY point here .

Just to break the news , I myself HATE IT when someone stare at me , and I being all confident could not even stare back :smack:

I think you’re my long lost sisterrrrr!!! :hayaa:

BEHNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA :crying:

hhahaha  :omg:

This just proves my point. The fact that you got into a couple of fights with perverts in Pakistan and that I have also told people off for staring at my relatives in Karachi shows that this is not a world wide trend!! From what I know this mainly happens in Pakistan and other repressed places. I’ve lived in New york for over 15 years and been all over the place to cafes, lounges, clubs, etc.. but never seen an argument/fight break out over someone creepily staring at a girl. I’ve also never heard this happen to anyone else outside of Pakistan either. Oh, but it does happen in New York at the Pakistani Consulate and some of the hardcore desi restaurants. You can take the pervy, creepy desi out of pakistan, but can’t take the pervy creepiness out of the desi unfortunately.

giving nomi the looooonnnnggggg bug eyed stare
