The case is not that straight forward it seems, as if as its being claimed that yunus habib and Asad durrani were involved in buying off people to bring down people's party government, why was Asad later made ambassador to Germany?
That is must to award them another job due to their 'great' services for nation .

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Monday rejected the allegations levelled against Sharif brothers by former president Mehran Bank, Younus Habib and challenged him to come up with documented evidence, if he (Habib) has sent money to the party’s leadership.
Talking to reporters outside Parliament House, PML-N central leader and Punjab government spokesman Senator Pervez Rashid termed Mehran Bank scandal as ‘drama’, started by those who still have relationship of “uncle and nephew” to malign PML-N leadership.
“This is a conspiracy against PML-N leadership being hatched by the persons who are enjoying relationship similar to that of an uncle and nephew”, he said without naming President Asif Ali Zardari and Younus Habib.He alleged that ‘nephew’ was using ‘uncle’ to malign PML-N leadership, adding that Younus Habib had said it on record that four billion rupees were written off by the Mehran Bank on the directives of the PPP leadership.
**He pointed out that two main characters of Mehran Bank scam - Lieutenant General Asad Durrani, Safdar Abbas Zaidi, had already been awarded by the then PPP government.****“Asad Durrani was blessed with an ambassadorial slot while the other man (Zaidi) was appointed Chairman Board of Investment (BOI)…this is enough to understand that why they were awarded”, he questioned, adding that if Asad Durrani had distributed money to PML-N’s leaders, then why the PPP government made him ambassador in Germany.

He asserted that Asad Durrani, during his tenure as ISI DG must have given some favours to the PPP and in return got the ambassadorial job.**He alleged that between 1988 and 1990, Safdar Abbas Zaidi withdrew a heavy amount from the bank through fraudulent means and as a result the PPP government was formed in 1993.
He pointed out that after the formation of the PPP government Safdar Abbas Zaidi was made BOI Chairman.****He further said that PML-Q Secretary General Mushahid Hussain Syed, who was PML-N Secretary Information in 1993, had shared an audio record at a press conference at that time in Peshawar, in which he had proved that Mehran Bank money was used to dislodge Pir Sabir Shah (PML-N’s) government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He said PML-N had all the relevant record about Mehran Bank scam and the apex court verdict would clear everything.**The PML-N leader further pointed out that PPP’s government in 1997 gave extension in tenure of then president of Mehran Bank Punjab Asif Jamshid and a notification in this regard was issued on February 4, 1997.
Whereas the same notification was annulled by Shahbaz Sharif when he became the Chief Minister Punjab, he added.**Referring to Younus Habib’s allegation that he sent money to Shahbaz Sharif through Telegraphic Transfer (TT), he challenged him to present the record of the bank account and the receipt, if he is true in his claims.

Here Royal Highness made him ambassador to Germany when General Waheed Kakar (who was a true soldier’s soldier, and wanted to distance army/ISI from the political shtick) sacked him. 
The sacked ISI chief came running to Benazir and said that this is what I got for services to the nation, and she made him ambassador.

Though Senior Anwar Pasha, did say it was award by force. 
I just wanted to clear it up for future reference, and you know, members who are not aware of how things went back in the 90s. We are not just West Pakistan, we were Wild Wild West Pakistan, back then.

It seems as if this case is reaching its logical conclusion as it seems that kayani has taken an exception to the case and he wants the history to be forgotten. :)
