Rs 32.50 was not the price of wheat. In those days, Rs 32.50 was the price of gold, a little under 7.5 tola. Purpose was to have enough amount in her ownership so she is not obligated to give out zakat.
Now that amount is ridiculous. If someone wants to follow the mehr-e-sahar’ee then the person needs to set it as the price of 7.4 tola of gold
