CATTY: I actually prefer a ghagra/lehnga on my mehndi and wear no makeup or natural makeup....for some reason.

hmmm..it depends ! i wuld prefer traditional shalwar kameez..as if i wear lehnga on mehndi day ..it wnt impress anyne on the actual reception day...but yea ..anythng can luk gud!!

^ It depends on person to person as well i have seen girls who wear shalwar kameez yet it doesnt look good...and girls who wear ghagra's but they are to heavy..and girls who wear either but know not to go over board and they look good.

not got a pic, but its not worth what i paid for, trust me! its yellow with diamanate work on neck and big royal green stones. got diamond and emerald green earrings/bangles to match. duppata is plain yellow with same green piping, so its elegent. they gave me a matching pouch which is amazing. but mum just bought it as we didnt have enough time and everything else we saw i hated or too OTT. lengha/ghararas are the key trend for mehndi girls these days, mariab and hajray hyat had some fabulous ones, but im not greatly tall to pull of such a look, wish i did ...........lol.....got some fab yellow and green stoned shoes to match!

in a city of 14/15 million ppl, there are more places to get work done other then gulf :)
A LOT OF DARZI's will copy any design for you... an example being KDA markey or Papoosh! you go into these shops that specialise in karhai work... some of them even have magazines with designer wear and you can pick and choose... and they will make a replica the best they can... i havn't as yet done this myself, but if I ever do, I'll let you know...
interesting :) so KDA market and papoosh are names of stores? where are these two located ? Could you give a more detailed describtion of how i can get there or an adress?
I am not familiar in karachi , infact i have visited the place only once.
We stayed at balochistan house somewhere named faisal something something i think it wasnt that far from the airport and the tariq road quite located in the middle. Although i have seen quite a lot of the city in 4 days! we had our own car and i insisted to go out shopping the same day i landed after a long flight of 18 hours lol i know quite desperate lol we really traveled from north to south.
Whats their price range? i want casual stuff with nice colars ...in quetta u get for 500 ruppees really bollocks for that price.
how long will it be enough to get my kaam waley clothing back? i wont go for heavy bridal clothing but more casual and semi /formals will 1 week be enough?
I think i need a 2/3 days to get the fabrics and give it to them! Or do you girls think its impossible as in the summers it is the wedding season?

Pinks i think it would have been super to have a shopping friend to hang out with in karachi, i dont know any1 there! :( infact i dont have any pakistani friends at all

well catty, it depends on person to person, don't ya think? i am sure you know what looks good on you and what doesn't, and based on that you're saying you wouldn't go for a ghagra/lehnga for mehndi day. well, we are not talking about you, we are talking about other people here who can and DO carry every look very well. anyone who has seen somegroovychicks pics will be able to tell you how gorgeous she looked on her mehndi day. she looked equally stunning on her wedding day as well despite of going against your theory of lehngas on both days.

:( i wish i had worn lehnga..or a gharara for mine...but after arriving...i had ONE day to decide...and got the churidarr made in 26 hrs...to be precise.....
