Sara, actually I disagree ā€“ I think she looks great with the simpler look. This picture appealed to me before too because she looked so much nicer and classier than the other brides.

I donā€™t think so, if she has a fancy dress, then she should wear makeup, at least cover the dark circles and a lil bit o color lipgloss. Simple dress = simple makeup, mixing it up just looks odd and out of place

^ I think she probably just has light-looking make up on. I didn't feel like the bags under her eyes and stuff were prominent.

i was just gonna say thatā€¦ i think her outfit is so heavy she shoulda work nice makeup to complement her whole look. she looks really underdone here. is she the same girl as her?

cos again, lack of makeup, or rather, well done makeup, is ruining her look. when your outfit is so heavy and elaborate and colorful, your makeup has to be equally intense but still tasteful. sheā€™s totally been overshadowed by her jewellery and her clothes.
i think girls wearing all white or white and gold can pull off more subtle makeup because their dresses arenā€™t intense.

Oh darn....I can't post url's to other sites coz I'm new, I wanted to post my sister's mehndi videos, she wore a green gharara with yellow top and a yellow dupatta with a green paranda. Oh well maybe after 25 posts : )

So this was the main pictureā€¦I know itā€™a lil paindoo but we made it simplerā€¦coz my sister was a tom boy before she got married and was totally against heavy dressesā€¦even her shaadi dress was very simple :slight_smile:

but wait i have a question, would you or did you guys keep ur mehndis just girls cuz these days the mehndi is girls and guys, but the traditional/original thing was just girls?

I have two brothers, and no sisters. I could not image having a mehndi function without my brothers and father. And our function was joint, so my husband was there too.

I'm glad we did it as we did. It was a lot of fun.

But I can understand why you might want to do it all-girls. It certainly helps get the shy ones on to the dance floor.
