hrm... the thing is, my groom is hungarian and very, very fair, and so are most of his groomsmen, and i dont want them to look washed-out. which is why i initially rejected white, and then tan too.... dammit. how about black? will that look odd with all the other colors? should i just give them red and yellow dupattas and cut out the turquoise altogether? or turquoise and yellow dupattas and keep just the girls in red and yellow? does it really matter? will this stop global warming? im thinking "no".... i need stress management lessons. d'oh.
ok, but seriously, so i'll put them in black with some kind of colourful dupatta then. that will look good, right? or chocolate brown? here we go again...
don't put guys in turqouise. I've seen black kurtas on guys, with yellow dupattas. Though personally, i find black at a mehndi a bit odd. it's the day to be colorful. White kurtas could do as well, as long as you have the colorful dupattas. then you can have the whole rainbow of colors.
oh and maroonish black sounds good as well. i was thinking along the lines of this kinda maroon
Well yeah, I agree that they’ll look washed-out and so white is not suitable…
And black with colorful duppatta would look very very nice…someting like Salman Khan in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam…Have you seen it??
Here are some pictures…
and Maroon or chocolate brown would also look good but I suggest you go with white shalwar n maroon/chocolate brown kameez…If the whole outfit is in maroon/chocolate brown color it would look odd…
i think i've changed my mind about the Karma crushed silk gharara for my mehendi for me, and i want the pink/orange/lime green outfit from veer zara instead!

word of advice - careful on the veer zara outfit.
I went to a shaadi were the dhulan wore that.
It made her look very ummm I dont know .. dhulhan nahee laag rahee thi.
Looked like she was dressed for a dance performance.
I guess you can tone it down a bit or do something a little different with it so that its not sooo oud.
good advice, muniya, but i think its mehendi-appropriate... i wouldn't wear it to a shaadi though. we'll see- my mom still has to give me her opinion on it.
btw, how did it look in person?
awww, thank you maham, thats very nice of you to say!
and i think as a final word, im going to stick to the Karma gharara instead of the veer zara outfit. its more versatile.
i can visualise it for sure, but i wasn't sure if it would be too much... neither he nor his groomsmen have worn shalwar kameez before, but i guess if you're doing it, might as well go all the way!
how did your wedding go? did you guys do the pakistani thing or the gora thing or both?
legallybrown- do your fam know you're with him? mine didnt for a looong time- let me tell you, it wasnt pretty when they did find out :P but its all good now, thank God!
