Anyone else there in Med School that wants to share one’s thoughts about it with us???
I’m in the 5th year , almost graduating. So far it’s being very mind-opening, but u don’t have any free time , and it’s impossible to work b4 graduating to support the costs…
I think i’ll be an Anesthesiologist.

yes, i am in first yr of med school and i am studying in carribeans and planning on going back to States after one yr or so for my clinicals

How hard is it for Carribean medical school graduates to get residency spots in the States?

it basically depend on which school u r attending…there r right now 5 school in carribean reliable to gaurantee to u for spots for residencies in States.

Guaranteed spots? Are you sure about that? The situation in Canada for Carribean schools is horrible, not that I’m planning to go to these schools or anything.

In Canada the situation is different, b/c most of the schools are affiliated with the hospitals in States so even students from Canada end up practicing in States. Just b/c of tht schools don't really go for the approval or even considering the affiliation process with hospitals in Canada.
As i said, carribean schools are not bad at, some people think its just a way for money making but trust me it is REALLY ez to get in the carribean med school but the toughest to go through the whole med school yr.
There r really 5 top schools right now in carribean that are approved by states for residencies and yes with the gaunrantee spots!

I’m in final year too and will soon be graduating. Since I’m in Pakistan and studying in a govt. institute, its almost for free. But still, its very difficult if you want to take out some time to work.

I have finished my theoretical part of 4 years, will start my internships soon Insha’allah (have taken a little break in between). Medical school is 6 years in the Netherlands, have 2 years to go be4 I can officially call myself a doctor!

every govt institute yar if you get admission on open merit
they charge u abotu 10 k rupees per year…and spend something in the range of 8ooK themselves
