It really is fascinating when one can step back and be completely neutral in their evaluation of people. (Like me, of course).

Did you ever think that they might perceive you as being the one having the dogmatic agenda that they don’t want influencing policy? They think your pro-gay agenda is divisive and intolerant and you see their pro-marriage agenda as being divisive and intolerant. Neither of you wants the other’s agenda influencing policy. It’s all perspective my friend.

Your supposed ‘neutrality’ because you are a secular conservative makes it even harder to stomcah than from a fundamentalist conservative. At least they have scripture to explain their intolerant and smug view.

My “pro gay agenda” is a piece of the larger “equal rights agenda” and is the antithesis of the dogmatic, fundamentalist movement and the antithesis of intolerance, s it’s BS to compare the two. When talking about public policy, one is tolerant the other isn’t. A ‘pro-gay agenda’ does not contradict a ‘pro marriage agenda’ so it’s hardly a matter of tolerance.
