They are getting us close to Allah and his Messenger(SAW), what else can there be to wish for?

What does it have to do with praying to dead good folks? When you are alive you struggle, you pray, Allah grants.
I agree but some ayats and ahadith indicate that prophets, awlia and shuhada are alive in their graves.
My dear, if they are alive, they are blessed, for their own good. Is that supposed to mean that we go and start praying to them? Why not pray directly to Allah who has blessed them in the first place? Why do you think you need a good reference from those guys to ask anything of Allah?

Only praying 5 namaz cannot make you saint. The last line of your is silly.... it's like saying anyone can be a teacher then why do you need another teacher in other words a teacher doesn't need a teacher. We all can't be teachers and even Prophet Muhammad(SAW) had a teacher, Jibril(AS).

And that is exactly what I find twisted and lacking sense. Allah listens to your prayers regardless. Allah listens to the pious and the sinners. Allah does not discriminate.
An ALIVE elder praying for you, for example your mother, that is a good thing. Once she passes away, you pray for her soul to rest in peace. Same goes for these pious people, you pray for their forgiveness and your own.

did i mention 5 times prayer? did i? u need a teacher? look upon prophet pbuh. enuf. teacher of all teachers! period. u need a school book open quran and read it. u want a examiner then allah is there. and try ur best gettign passed in that exam. and prohphet pbuh's teacher is allah not jibrail. jibrail was a messenger.

Jibril(AS) is the high ranked angel who brings wahi not a messenger or prophet. He taught Prophet Muhammad(SAW) so he was his teacher. Now go and open your school book again.

i think u misunderstood the literary meaning of messenger. messenger according to all english dictionaries mean sum1 who delivers messages. jibrail was delivering god;s messages tp prophet pbuh not teaching him his own ways. naozobillah. now go and open english dictionary first.

What I fail to understand is, why do people believe that Allah will discriminate? His blessings know no bounds. Why do you think he would say No if you asked directly and yes if you went through some other guy?
