Mayke or Paeke?

What is the correct word?

Is it different in different areas. I think I heard Paeke among Sindhis.

Punjabi is also Paeke... or Saurey

Do they still use 'maapay' for 'Maa baap ka ghar' in Punjab?

I heard shadi se pehle, laRki ke liye parent’s house is ‘maapay’ and after marriage it becomes paeke. In Maapay, Maa comes before paa (father) and in paeke father’s authority is more prevalent. :hmmm:

sasuraal = biwii/shauhar kaa ghar

so in Punjab, peo is more powerful than maa and therefore paeka (peo da ghar) and in Urdu speaking areas, maa got more authority over ghar so mayka (maa ka ghar)
