Why he deserved no pardon?..did he kill anyone?. He has spent 35 years in jail. Moreover, president can revert the order of any court. He can pardon a person from death sentence awarded even by the supreme court( Atleast in india).
B/c he was a spy & we don't know what kind of vital information he gave to India that undermined our national security. As for pardon, yes, president has authority to pardon anyone, but that doesn't he should use that authority to free foreign spies.
