Matha Patti

Re: i love mattha pattis

I would probably wear it a little higher than the girl in the picture cos I hate for the hairline and skin to show. But the way its going all the way down to the ears instead of looping and going back up again towards the ears is perfect. I absolutely hate it when they make that ‘w’ shape out of it

this is what i meant - Untitled | Fayyaz Ahmed | Flickr

her jewellery is soooo pretty. love the multiple strands of rubies!

Matha Patti

Okay so I really like matha patti's, you know the ones that i really simple- not the ones with tones of beads hanging all of the place.

My question is, I already have a gold tikka, can a matha patti be attached by a jeweler in pakistan? Actually, i mean i would only want to wear it on my wedding day, whereas the tikka could be worn again so i dunno.....but matha pattis are detachable anyhoo right???

Re: Matha Patti

maybe something like this?

Re: Matha Patti

But this one doesnt look detachable in the pic.
But the jewellers cud accomodate, dey rnt always attached, have noticed on some brides the y r worn as such that dey looks joined in.

Re: Matha Patti

You can always try, im sure the jewellers can help you....
Or u can get it made fully matha patti thing n' then after the shaadi later, when ever possible get the hanging beads off.... (sorry not sure if this is a good idea)

Re: Matta Patti

Hey all you guppies, I need your help! I'm looking for pictures of pretty, delicate maata pattis. I don't want something huge and thick because I know it won't suit me. Any ideas??

^ this one was just posted in the bridal section by bint-e-adam

im not suggesting that u wear it, but this is a matha patti too:D
a head cover and a matha patti!:stuck_out_tongue:

Re: Matta Patti

^thank you, thank you, thank you everyone! I can use these as inspiration....I just hope my small forehead can bear the look :S

Re: Matta Patti

^ do a small, delicate one with tiny, tiny gemstones, and fit it properly to your hairline and face.

if you do a big one and have a small forehead, it’ll overwhelm you. think paayal-inspired, not necklace-like.
like this one- http://www.paklinks.com/gsmedia/files/79511/picture-1-300x237.png - but with a smaller teeka and gemstones.
it should accent your face, not be the focal point. when people look at you, they should be able to take in the whole picture and not just focus on a huge medallion covering your forehead, you know?

Re: Matta Patti

^that is awesome advice sgc, thank you tons! my eye was on the exact same picture you linked...do you think if I should do real polki or will it be too overpriced?

Re: Matta Patti

i think it will be overpriced for something that you might only wear once

Re: i love mattha pattis

is a nath (nose ring) a symbol of anything? as in … are only brides/married people supposed to wear it?
i love both matha pattiz and nose ring … but feel it looks a bit too much if worn together … so i was thinking is it too bad to wear a nose ring on a mehndi? :S … just the nose ring and nothing else …
i think it was one of the bridal asia fashion shows … and one of the designers had chosen to accessorise his collection with just the big plain nose rings … and it looked HAWT … :e6:

Re: i love mattha pattis

k am totally in love with this gals jewelry and she is wearing both nath and matta patti and is looking perfect

so u can wear both and look classy
