They need cars but they don’t need to go out and buy a BMW/Porsche etc when a Ford Focus or a VW Golf would do lol and same goes for the latest 8-megapixel phone or newest sexiest looking laptop they can brag about to their mates. Guys are also just as obsessed with labels as girls are, go into any desi area of London and they’ll be banging on about d&g and hugo boss, not admitting they’ve spent a weeks wages on one top lol.
Me and my brother both drive expensive cars but I’m the one who gets the remarks about being materialistic even tho in all other ways I literally spend about half the amount he does. One of my aunties pointed this out but still generally when a boy drives a flash car he’s seen as ambitious, successful and driven but when a girl does she’s labelled as materialistic, greedy and/or ‘a handful’
