matches worth keeping

I’m going to look for and eventually buy cricket videos involving our boys. I want to string together some sort of a collection. For this purpose, I’d like people to please list matches/series/tournaments worth buying (a brief synopsis and a timeline would help me greatly).

I’m mainly looking for Imran, Miandad, Wasim, Waqar and Saeed’s matches but any match will do as long as it is worth watching.

thanks people, much appreciated.

India vs Pak in Pak - 1978
Pak vs Aus in MCG - 1981
Ind in Pak - 1983
Pak in Eng - 1982
World Cup 1992
Pak in Eng - 1993

Where do you plan on buying these matches?

Is there any place on east coast where u can find these videos? I was also looking for old videos. I have collection of good matches from WC'99 onwards. But not before 99 :-(

I have;

1992 WC Highlights of semifinals and finals
1996 Afridi's 37 ball century in Nairobi
1998 ATC Pak vs Ind Test matches played in India
1999 All WC matches (ball-to-ball and highlights both)
2000 Aus-Pak-Ind VB Series (Pak beat Ind 3-1 but lost to Aus 0-2)
2000 Asia Cup in Dhaka
2001 Pak in Eng (Tests and NatWest)
2003 Most WC matches

Saby,

Do you have the video of India-Pak match in Sharjah where Aquib Javed took 37/7 ??

I have the match where Shoaib clean bowled Dravid and Teendu on successive deliveries. Man, the crowd went silent.

Yup Great match, Even I have that one :) Great bowling by Srinath, Great Batting By Saeed Anwar. I wish Sachin was run out in the second innings ;)

Actualylly I have that whole series. Kumble's 10 wickets in one innings in Kotla, Saqlain 20 wickets in the test series , Sachin's 136, Madras crowd..wow !! It was the second best test series I have ever seen. Best One is India Australia series in 2001. I have that one too.

1993- Pak tour of West Indies.

Although we didn't end up on the winning side, the series is one tasty treat. Wasim and Waqar bowling on full batteries to the likes of Lara and Richardson in sublime form. Excellent cricket.

:)

Great series.I loved that one.
Pakistani pace battery at his best.

Unfortunatly I don’t have any tapes before 92 WC, after that I have recorded almost all of Pakistan’s matches. I also have India vs Australia test series, Pak vs Ind Test series and even Pak vs Aus test series 2002 :nook: :nook:
If anyone wants to see a team get knocked off for 53 and 58 then just call me.
I also have India vs England Natwest Series Final, almost all of Pakistan’s matches in the last 10 years.

But if you want the best here is what you want to buy.

India vs Pakistan: Australasia Cup 86 (Miandad Sixer)
Pakistan vs Australia: 87 WC Semifinal
Pakistan vs Australia: 93 WS in Australia (Mujtaba Sixer)
Pakistan vs India: 97 in Banglore (Anwar 194)
Pakistan vs India: 99 Test Series (Afridi’s innings, Shoaib’s 2 ducks)
Pakistan vs Australia: 99 WC (Group Match)
Pakistan vs Australia: 02 Super Challenge 2 (Shoaib at his best)
Pakistan vs Australia: 01 Natwest Series (Waqar took 7 wickets)
Pakistan vs India: 91 Sharjah (Aaqib Javed 7 wickets)

Shoaib didn't play in the 99 test series, so how come two ducks :P, Anyways great series and great performances :)
Can anyone tell me where to get that Aquib Javed ODI match ?

One more, it was in Sharjah 1993/94 Pakistan vs West Indies game. Basit Ali (the great) blasted 127 out, but then Lara came back with vengeance and stole the game and scored 153.

In this game, Basit blasted sixes off Courtney Walsh, Cummins, Benjamin, whats superb timing!

Worth Watching :k:

Basit Ali was a star in the making. I never understood why he didn't play again after staring down one of the fiercest pace attacks in history in the West Indies. It's decisions like these which baffle ordinairy fans - I'm pretty sure it was a political one.

Yes it was. When our team was visiting South Africa, both Rashid Latif and Basit Ali had “panga” with racist Saleem Malik, then right there they announced “retirement” from International cricket. Basit Ali never came back, Rashid Latif managed to come back. :frowning: :teary3:

He really was great!

:k:

true one of the best talent which went to drain because of Politics.he could have ben next miandad. He was technicall very good but above all mentally very strong.

Wow. we lost one of our brightest prospects because of that turncoat Saleem Malik? :( That's truly sad.
