mata e jaan

Re: mata e jaan

^ Thanks Dooree for posting. Love reading her reviews because she brings such a fresh perspective to things :)

Re: mata e jaan

haniya's friend is so annoying!

Re: mata e jaan

**just like ‘Maat’ it is also going good.. i saw its two episodes that are awesome ..
**

Re: mata e jaan

agreed :k:

Re: mata e jaan

I know this can't be helped but come on American Pakistanis, who have been born and brought up in US - ( I'm guessing) are unlikely to communicate in Urdu at Uni .....

This is why Pakistani serials set abroad look fake to me.

Re: mata e jaan

im slightly annoyed by hania's friend too :/

anyways, i loved the episode.

Smiled throughout ibaad nd hania's conversations, you could feel the awkwardness between them lol both are doing awesome work!

Next episode looks really interesting!

Re: mata e jaan

Loved today's episode. All the scenes were so beautifully captured and the dialogues were very "normal" and not forced. I noticed that some of the dialogues sounded like they were impromptu like "you snooze you lose" by Hania's friend ( who btw i really like:p). Mehreen is amazing that way, she will give the actors a lot of flexibility. What's the name of the actress who plays Haniya's Daadi? I am really liking her in this drama.

Re: mata e jaan

btw todays episode was better than last weeks I think

So far I am liking Adeel Hussain. Both he and Sarwat Gilani are playing their characters well. Looks like both Haniya and Ibad are endearing characters. It's a testament to Farhat Ishtiaq's creation of likable characters.

Re: mata e jaan

The scene where Ibad saves Haniya from the car was so badly done. In the novel, it has a lot more impact. It was simply lame in the drama.

Re: mata e jaan

ok just watched epi 3 y adam appears so artifical one thing noval was bit boring but i think they dramatize it in a very good manner :)

Which did u like better novel (actions) or drama? Didn't understand from your post.

Re: mata e jaan

i m saying noval was bit boring drama is bit more interesting

Yes. I would dare to say that this is probably the best serial on air right now.

Re: mata e jaan

^ Yep, totally agree. There is nothing else worth watching on TV right now. Only following this one so far, and I also think that it is much better than the novel.

Re: mata e jaan

For a first time role she is doing a good job and she actually sounds American with her English/Urdu mixed together vs. Haniya who doesn't have a remotely American accent :D

I do love that Sajida Syed is looking gorgeous in this play - such natural makeup on her! I still remember watching that Faisal Qureshi drama that Baber Javed produced (Manay na yeh dil) where she played Faisal's mom and boy they made her look so BAD!! Awful makeup and all.

Re: mata e jaan

I was thinking the same.

Re: mata e jaan

I love hows she wearing desi Dupattas with winter coats.. I have so many duppattas lying around will try that next winter :k:..
oh and I just watch the drama here and there so dont know much … but I dont think Hanya’s freind is annoying or anything.. in fact if anything I found her acting natural

Re: mata e jaan

On the contrary, I think they should speak less English in the dialogues. All foreign dramas like arabic or chinese never have any English dialogues in them even if they were showing expats in America. Pakistanis need to stop relying on English so much.

I bet a large chunk of Pakistani audience don't have a clue of what 'you snooze you lose' means. We need to have the dialogues in Urdu to make it more inclusive. The target audience should not be the privileged few in Pakistan lucky enough to go to 'American Schools' or the desis abroad. The biggest audience is still in Pakistan who is not fluent in English, despite what everyone thinks.

Re: mata e jaan

And for that audience, Urdu subtitles were displayed during those dialoques.
