Whoever mentioned Sara, was talking about the character from Humsafar.
The same person is playing the role of Sara's mom (Humsafar) and Ibaad's mom (Mata e jaan),and in both dramas her kids die.
Regarding the latest episode of Mata e Jaan...it was not all that confusing.I HAVE NOT read the novel and it made sense to me and I had an idea what was happening..!
I caught up with the last 4 or 5 episodes in one go with some generous forwarding. ;). I don't really care much for the story ( and fail to understand the point Farhat Ishtiaq is trying to make), but have to say that I really enjoyed Mehreen's creative take on the whole thing. She really does have the talent to turn the ordinary into extraordinary. Although initially I found it hard to feel anything for Haniya or Ibaad's character ( thanks to miscasting of Sarwat and Adeel!) , I actually liked Sarwat's acting in the last episode and it did touch my heart. For me this drama is all about appreciating the individual talents of a few, including the technical aspects of the production, cinematography and direction. The story itself seems like a byproduct, ...which is sad really, since a better cast and a better story would have made this another Mehreen classic.
just read mehreen jabbar's update on facebook where she said the upcoming last episode is not directed by her :O because she had timing constraints...for a consummate professional like mehreen that sounds so strange and unlike her, finales are the crux of these plays! I am guessing hum tv wanted to drag it out or do weird things to the ending and she bowed out early. Haven't watched it in ages and now that she is not directing the last one, won't be wasting my time on it, since her directorial skills were the only saving grace of this fiasco.
Saw the last episode yesterday . Well I'm glad it's over lol
I thought in the final episode there were too many scene of the parents, I wanted more Haniya and Adeel. They could have showed them getting married at the end or something instead of leaving it to our imagination. I didn't like the final scene when they're all looking at the sky but I guess it was okay but could have been better though !
Overall mata e jan didn't live up to the expectation and hype that was created before it aired. The first few episodes were alright. It got lost somewhere in the middle and became boring and a drag. Adam and yasmin's story saved it a little. Then came along the cheesy romance. A couple of episodes from the last it started getting a bit better. Then came the ending.
I loved it. I loved the story, acting, direction, casting and the ost is fab. Icried throughout the whole thing but that is another story. It should come with a warnign, not for the weepers.
