Brilliant episode today! I haven’t read the novel but did not find it confusing at all. I think our viewers expect a full dramatic entry into a flashback complete with a person staring up in the heavens, dramatic background music and the scene slowly fading into the flashback (thank you baber javed :s ) and hence the confusion :p.

I think they could have put in a note stating the story went back one year because a lot of people were confused by the editing of the scenes.
