However, of you make New York (brooklyn) your home naturally projects which take place will be appealing to a director who resides in new York. Remember a director does not write the script nor do they foot the bill for expenses for production. A producer Mai goal is TO MAKE MONEY/profit on a project. They will choose projects tha garner advertisements. So whatever the public chooses to watch whether it be violence, romance, social issues, corruption, vulgarity they will produce to sell advertisement. I believe production for mata e JAAN began shortly after a few episodes f Humsafar aired and it was the number serial on air throughout. I dot think they put as much creative thought as was necessary . Mehreen Jabbar is one of the best directors in the industry. Producer spent money on choosing a smart director. Farhat Ishtiaq hit the jackpot big time with Humsafar so Humtv was going to cash in on this success. At the end of the day IT’S ABOUT MONEY. In the process if they manage to create/ produce a hit serial so be it.

Twinklestar, What you are saying might be true for a producer, i.e making money from a succesful hit, but a good director should be selective when choosing what project they want to work on. One of the most important criteria for them is surely the story because that is after all what the viewer judges the drama on first and foremost. I hardly think a director chooses projects just to be close to home.
