My concern with inter-marriage would be the kids. Although it has been shown that marrying a cousin in itself does not pose that much more of a risk of genetic maladies, the amount of intermarriage within that family line is very important. The more inter-marriage, the more chance of genetic malady or infertility.
I've had experience working for an infertility specialist and have seen the sad evidence of this firsthand.
So if you plan to marry a cousin, best to look into the family line and consider how much inter-marrying has gone on, perhaps consult a genetic counselor.
