Some say its weird. Some say its good because apparently (Im not saying!) but girls take longer to mature???

In ISLAM..........it is allowed for a guy to marry a single woman who is OLDER than him. Our Prophet SAWS is an example of this. He married Khadija RA when he was 25 and she was around 40. She was 15 years older. And she proposed FIRST, I believe (correct me if I'm wrong). And he didn't seem to mind that she proposed to him first.
So, religion allows it. No relationship will be perfect. Some relationships may have more obstacles than others. At the end of the day.........it's the maturity of the couple and their mutual efforts to make the marriage work that matters the most.
Level of maturity varies from one person to the next. And keep in mind.......that as individuals we may be more mature regarding some matters.........and less mature regarding others. NOBODY.........behaves in a CONSTANT way all the time. In other words.........one can't be mature or reasonable all the time. As far as GENERALIZATIONS are concerned...........i've always heard that GIRLS mature FASTER than guys. Once again....there are exceptions to the generalization.
Mcpendo my 2 cents are that, and in experiecne of other male and females i have heard from is that:
unmarried older girls are also usually prouder somwhat, possibly due to thier maturer mind and likely high education level.
Relative to this, In our culture younger girls are still more preferable for marriage, however inspite of this fact and maybe arising from insecurity issues many older girls still possess in simple terms a bigger-headed mindset.
And also from personal experiecne, the older girls probably are maturer and intelligent likewise they tend to want to dominate/control a younger guy, i.e try to be the boss, as opposed to the guy being the head of the marriage or relatinship.
However this is only my general opinion from my observations.

Can an older girl be just as fun and out going as a younger one? Lets say she is at least 29 and your hitting 22. She is in her prime to get a family going and your more likely wanting a woman to enjoy life for another 5 odd years. Would starting a family five years on make it more difficult for her? Also maturity could mean she acts more like your mum than your wife?? LOL Now wont that be fun!

I thought most men take longer to get matured and some may never get to that level...lol
Age does not matter but giving the fact that women have shorter reproductive life or children born to older women have more genetic defects, many men prefer younger women to marry if this is considered an important issue.
There are issues as well.......... ;-)
It is common knowledge that girls mature faster than those of the opposite sex. There is no way you can compare the mentality and vision or expectations of a 20 year old lady to that of a 20 year old boy. I know there are exceptions to the case, but that is all they are ..... exceptions. I cannot begin to imagine myslf dating a guy who is exactly my age mate or even a mere year older. It becomes painfully obvious therefore that dating a younger guy is alarmingly out of the question. No offence meant but guys usually have a lot of growing up to do. So much so that it lasts some of them their lifetime. For those who can handle it and have the required tolerance level for it, by all means, have fun, but as for me........ thanks but no thanks.

Oh please, women are still in the mood in their mid 80's, as long as their partner can keep up and is not a self centered idiot!
And as a guy you should know that the peak of for women to be in the mood starts in their mid 30's, while men go the other way a little, I have to refind this research.

Now do you really think if all thats imp to a 29 year old woman is having a family, that she'll be all up for getting married to a soon to be 22 years old??? Emmmmm, I don't think so, she'll be needing a wise and mature man! But most 29 year old women getting married to younger men are looking for the same thing as a 22 year old man is going after, EXCITEMENT!!!!
btw I'm talking about love marriages, not those creepy setups by idiotic parents
Anyway in these types of marriages, excitement>family!!!Its not like the 22yr old went in wanting a wise women, and the 29 yr went in to grow a family. Hotness was the focal point in their relationship!

Well aside from age difference, in this example, the couple just aren't on the same page of their wants & needs in life & that is reason enough not to marry. There are couple with age difference who agree on same things and have same outlook on life, they have better chances of getting on. Oh and 1st time I have heard women mature later, it's usually the men I hear that about.

I personally find the idea of it to be a bit weird - I tend to classiify older hirls, even just a few months older, as "bajis".
But my dadi was 3 years older than my dada, on the other hand.
