However, since you brought it up, was the Imaan or his wife discussing her past with you? If so, then you were all sinful. When a person converts to Islam and offers sincere repentance, then their previous sins are forgiven, regardless of what those may be. Even for a born muslim, to openly reveal your sins to another person, past or present, is sinful. So basically either you were engaging in fitna by discussing this person’s past, or you are backbiting another person on a public forum - also sinful.
Oh, and to those of you who talk about the trashy goris you are hanging around with - have you ever heard the phrase "birds of a feather flock together"? Like attracts like, I guess you are clueing us in to what kinds of people you associate with.

i agree with u on that ...we all make mistakes afterall we r human ....i have great respect for goris who try to adjust to our values/religion:) .....thats not the point but what i m trying to say is that its just the norm in west for girls to have sex at very young age and with god know with how many ppl:o ....what some1 did before he/she converted is not our concern if god can forgive that person then who r we to judge him/her :o .....

I have learned never to paint an entire group with the same brush. This doesn't necessarily mean that I approve of everything that goes on. Just that I respect people's rights to believe what they want to believe and live the way they want to live without being considered superior or inferior.
