Agreed, though I think both the desi and the gora/gori in the relationship need to make an effort. It’s wrong to expect just one person to keep sacrificing all the time. A good friend of mine (indian hindu) married a gori (jewish). She took Hindi lessons in the university and can converse very well with his family. For his part, he makes an extra effort to hang out with her friends and family and they celebrate both hindu and jewish festivals.
