Really good thread. One of the things I am scared about is that I wont be able to ask him for money if i am not working. I always feel bad asking my dad for some and until now whenever he spends on me i feel like he is doing me a favor 
I hope it changes after rukhsati though and i become comfortable spending out of a joint account.
